Do you find you're left bass drum pedal lags and does move as smoothly as your right pedal? This Trick Drums Retrofit Driveshaft (model P1V6DW) truly is the ultimate upgrade for your DW 9000 and 5000 series double pedals. The 5000/9000 pedals come with what DW refers to as the Complete Linkage Drive Assembly with Red Ends. And while that does an adequate job, it's really no match for Trick's version of the driveshaft due to how it's manufactured. There are some other pluses to the Trick version, along with a few negatives. We'll explore all aspects of the build and performance of the Trick Drive shaft verses the DW Drums linkage assembly with red ends. Purchase the Trick Retrofit Driveshaft here: amzn.to/3DvYpOP *If you purchase through the above link, I'll make a tiny commission. That'll make me super happy, as I could buy more drums!*

Acd Unlimited also makes a badass driveshaft. They also make upgrade parts for different brands of pedals. All handmade in Austria. I deeply recommend it.

I bought this shaft for my Tama Speed Cobra. The feeling of playing with this shaft is amazing, the original Tama shaft is loose.

Awesome! Good to hear it also helps the Tama pedals.

Great channel. Amazon knock off $ 21.00 red ends and all, not kidding! I have a spare in my case for the past two years, never have a bit of lag or trouble. I hit Hard! Peace from Detroit MI.

It works great on my iron cobra too

Why does DW have problems with the drive shaft. What exactly is the problem. Should I expect problems with this on an iron cobra too?

By any chance would the trick linkage work on the DW 3000 pedals.??? Please respond, anyone!!!!!!!
@drumdrumdrum15 күн бұрын
I can say for certain, but I think chances are good that it will work. When I look at DWs site for their ball bearing linkage, it says "Compatible with most 3000, 5000, 9000, and MFG series double pedals". That makes me think the connection is the same across all those DW Pedals, and that Trick would then fit them. But that's just a guess.

I find it reprehensible that pedals that expensive have issues.
@justingibbons901116 күн бұрын
My original dw shaft lasted 15 years. It's less of an issue when you think of it as just a wear and tear item.

@@justingibbons9011 I think he means that the DW ones should perform better, not that they wear out.

The driveshaft that comes with the Machined model is pretty good. But even the 5000 series should come with the same one.
@justingibbons901116 күн бұрын
@@borrago fair enough. I wouldn't know much about the performance side, I've used nothing but 5000's for two decades. Trick pedals are not cheap... neither are the machined dw's... 500 bucks for a 5000 seems to be a happy medium. The parts on my current set have only recently started to give me problems so I feel like I've got my money's worth. 100 bucks for another slave rod that will last me another 15 years seems worth it. But I suppose if one is trying to hit those 300 bpm level runs then yeah... the old ones probably could use some updating.

Thats 56 cents a month! You must be a very rich man 😮@@justingibbons9011

Pearl licenses these for their demon drive pedals, which is why the pearl labeled one is more expensive.

Interesting, I didn't know that!

Trick has a different model of this that will fit Tama pedals. I believe you'd want model P1V6P
