What do you do if the tile is higher than the thickness of hardwood? Would you put more glue underneath the hardwood? Thanks

What happens to the hardwood that attaches to this plank on the sides? They need to slope a little bit too, right? But would you only curve them close to the transition and then gradually transition to flat?

Good question, if you gonna make it flat, need to cut this transition with 45degree both sides and put triangles. Then other boards will be flat. In this case very little slope, not visible.

what do you use to clean the glue off the wood? i use mineral spirits but if it's not immediate its stuck

Our glue is water base. I tried to work as clean as possible and clean up glue right away and use regular napkins for it.

what about when you use bostik? or mapei 980?

I work with Bostik EFA. It is very easy to clean (even with finger). When you work with glue - the main idea to work as clean as you can.

Hi, nothing special, just put something on front of your transition make even floor and tile. Don't forget cut side of transition little angle which is connected with tile.

The customers from Vancouver BC ask to install all floors without transitions and now it is a rule. We install transitions only for floating floor.
