Seems heavy for wet slushy long hauls. Looks great though.

Where did you get your carpet from looks nice

Did you just use some sort of black strap to make the door pulls or do they make something specific? Thanks

Where did you buy that carpet? Its tough to find that colour of grey

How did you attach the plastic trays? Are the lip of the trays just sitting on top of the plywood?

I would imagine painting the outside of the clear tubs white(or another bright color) before installing them would've been really nice to help see items inside

Where did you purchase the carpet for the top? I want to do something similar but am having trouble finding where to get a small piece of carpet like this.
@JLewisFishing3 жыл бұрын
This was actually boat carpet. We re-carpeted a boat and had this left over. Not terribly helpful, sorry, but maybe that can help you find some scrap pieces.

Part 2 of the build. Getting the carpet and platform installed. Just got to finish the electrical!

I’m trying to decide if I should do something similar but I am constantly changing my setup around, adding and switching things out.
@JLewisFishing5 жыл бұрын
Kind of the same, though I think this layout will work rather well for me for most applications.

Nice setup. I would like to see what total weight ends up being with all the gear. I accumulated gear and upgraded shacks like most ice fisherman over a couple decades but have gone back to bare bones light weight setup again.
@JLewisFishing5 жыл бұрын
Its going to be heavy for sure. I have a Kenai Pro Thermal that is bare for early ice.
@69jbr695 жыл бұрын
@@JLewisFishing Nice. Ice fishing is a healthy addiction. I am up to 6 shacks currently so figure I mine as well get one more so I have one for every day of the week. I would recommend adding a hub to your arsenal for a light weight rooming option.

@@JLewisFishing any thoughts on without the gear how much more weight this added to th shell. with removing the sliding bars is it close to the same. i got the same shack last year based on your review and sitting in them all.

How much weight do you think was added in this mod?
@JLewisFishing4 жыл бұрын
Honestly not too much. The weight of the plywood is the most. Maybe 30-40lbs total? I rarely pull it by hand though, so it wasn't a big issue for me.

What are the trays called???? Where did you get them from???
@JLewisFishing5 жыл бұрын
Just acrylic trays. We have a store called The Container Store. Found them there while the wife was shopping.

Excellent Upgrades......Super psyched about taking a seat off for more space...Would you box in the bigger compartments to keep things organized?....So much space down below deck.....
@JLewisFishing5 жыл бұрын
I plan to section them out, most likely just running some light plywood down to the bottom of the sled, nothing overly awesome.

Where do you plan on transporting your rods?
@JLewisFishing5 жыл бұрын
I actually carry all of my rods in my truck, I'm kind of paranoid with them.

Hey, if you don’t mind me asking what color of carpet is that. I got the same shack and want to do something similar but don’t want to order the wrong color, thanks!! Looks awesome 😎
