Tricks For A Perfect Paint Job: Painting A 1967 Camaro Part 2 Video V8TV
#musclecar #v8tv
A smooth and shiny restoration starts long before the paint is sprayed. Properly fitting body panels, crash damage and rust repair, and attention to detail in the bodywork all contribute to a precise fit and a shiny finish. In this two part video series, we transform a damaged and disassembled 1967 Camaro with some new body panels from Classic Industries, and go through the body work process with Evercoat Quantum1 body filler and Super Build 4:! sprayable polyester. The final stages include spraying the custom three tone paint job, polishing and buffing.

nothing like spending months welding, blocking, blocking, and blocking and then to hear everybody compliment the painter when we all get the first glimpse in the booth. Someone owes me lunch!

"It takes some time, some dedication and attention to detail." Not to mention, it takes Nathan! Have I made it clear that I think Nathan is a genius?

There are generally 3-4 coats on the car, with extras sprayed over the stripe areas to have enough to sand down so you do not feel the stripes.

I blocked a whole nova this summer and I have to say, I've learned a lot and messed up a lot. But it was worth it in the end!

What was the first product you used over the bare metal, black epoxy? You used the polyester primer after the filler work, I have G2 primer I was gonna use as a first primer. Then after you finish with that step do you reprime with the polyester or was that a different primer? So it was then reprimed plus a sealer coat? What was it you used for that? I've only ever used PPG products at my work, but doing my own car I want to know exactly what I need to use so there is no "fail" down the road.

Crazy how that final paint is so damn good this car like you said is so difficult to photograph indoors with a unatural whatever bulb lighting blazing down & around it, l notice this long ago in those used car Rags , all you see is the frigging lighting reflection in the one static photo.l even noticed this total oversight in those socalled high end upper crust used car Curber's in the du-pont Registry believe it or not & they think there high end ? yah right save for there Total dumb lighting and or photographer.

excellent prep work and paint, but the owners scheme is a bad decision, but it's his car.

The paint job itself is really nice but the scheme sucks. The owner should have not used that 1990's silver check mark stripe.
