Using the telescopic whip was mindblowingly simple but something I have never thought of. Thank you!

The original concept for this whip completely failed but produced an even better result. 🍻🤙🏻

The telescoping whip is an awesome idea. I love it. When I pota with hamsticks, I use a manual tuner inline - it's an old MFJ box with 3 knobs that I bought off an old guy at a hamfest for $20. I leave the hamstick at the factory length, screw it together, and screw it into the mag mount. I dial the tuner to where the radio gives me the best swr, and let it rip. I can usually slam the swr down to 1:1, or really close. The nice thing with the manual tuner is that there is no additional draw on my battery. I've made thousands of contacts with this method.

Hey thanks for watching. I also have a nice little manual tuner sitting on the bench that I might do a test on. 73’s for now and hope to chat on the air.

Here’s a tip- the MFJ 60” adjustable stainless steel whip comes with a 3/8” stud built in and will screw right on the top of the Shark Ham Stick.

Great video! I have been using Hamsticks for POTA for a while. I built several dipole mounts and a quad mount that all work great. I'm interested in the size of the screws you replaced the set screws with. I have Shark Mini's mostly.

I used a m-4 screw but yours could be different.

Thanks Mike. I just ordered a 50” collapsible HT Cb antenna with a BNC connector. I’ll make a video on it.

Great idea. I could never get my 10 meter hamstick long enough to tune below 29.000.

Thanks. Some bands it’s not needed but it’s very useful on 75/80 40 and like you said 10m when operating up into the FM section. .
