Good video as usual I prefer the split block type cable luber, its cheap as chips and is pretty quick to fit and remove but they can leak so wise to wrap a rag around it when spraying the lube in. I also use silicone lube on cable or some such lube that sets dry in the cable, oil lubes can tend to attract dirt.

good job men! but why you didn't greased inside the clutch cable after the lube cleaning ? or it's ok just with the lube ?
@eamh20026 жыл бұрын
One easy trick if you dont have tools like this or a shop to buy one in a hurry. Buy some heat shrinking tube and side it over the grommet, heat it tight around the metal endcap and pour some lube of your choice into the tube. You can push the lube through with compressed air or a big syringe :) You can also clean the wire up if you spray some brake cleaner through the cable first.

There is another easier system on top of Hydraulic clutch. That is the One Light Clutch by Clake. It is not the same as the easy clutch or left hand brake by Clake. That one is just mechanical advantage, which just means you can adjust it so that your pull is longer. The One Light Clutch is a hydraulic clutch, like Magura, but if you are still having a stiff clutch it's the next level. It is a big spring that is offset and you can tighten it how much you want. So when you start to pull the clutch, the spring helps you by adding additional tension so your pull is the same distance unlike mechanical advantages. It can really reduce your clutch pull significantly.

I've been thinking about buying a hydraulic clutch kit with a slave cylinder for my CBR600 because the clutch is quite hard to pull. But the more i think about it, the more i begin to think that i've just gotten used to a 125cc clutch and not used a 600cc that much, so i might just be weak af. I might have to try and lube the cable again.

I installed a Magura Hymec hydraulic line. But because I'm a crappy mechanic the engine burned through it... thankfully home was mostly downhill or I would have been stranded! Nothing beats running beside a bike to get it up to speed and then in gear (at stop lights no less).

My grip is almost non existent due to tennis elbow. I was considering flipping the perch so I can push the clutch in instead of gripping it. Street bike, so clutch control not that critical to riding.

One thing Cameron didn't mention is the clutch lifter arm if it is worn where it pushes on the clutch lifter rod and the pivot point where the cable connects also gets worn it makes a huge difference in the clutch pull he spoke on the lifter arm bearing but not the arm it's self

Not something really hard to do, but that bearing on the pivot of the lever surprised me. I don't know a single brand here in Argentina that sells something like this. Btw, nice video quality, as you always do.
@paulocampos60526 жыл бұрын
Sure, grease up your pivot points on the levers.... until you have a wife and kids and then you are lucky if you have time to clean your air filter lol. I have the Magura clutch system, it really improves the clutch pull but for dirt bikes (I have a 2017 yz250x) it is almost impossible to setup properly and the actuation does not seem to be enough to fully disengage the clutch plates, I kind of got it working, end up getting a clake one system and I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. To me a light clutch is number one priority above anything else. By the way, tech support from Magura consists on ignoring your emails so be-careful about recommending their system.

Need help! new to dirt bikes, on my 03 yz125 my clutch was working perfectly fine until I crashed and snapped the clutch lever, I installed new clutch and perch and adjusted the cable but now the clutch wont disengage at all, I have tried pushing cable and the clutch push lever by hand to the spec disengaged position but that doesn't disengage the engine either. Because it was working fine before I don't know how I managed to mess it up but Im sure its an easy fix that I just can't figure out!
