Thanks Craig, yes, all done in the North, we're getting a bit of the south done before the weather and darker nights are against us!

This was for some reason a surprise, though I should have known you hadn't done this section yet after having seen your map countless times 😂 We have done the stretches back to back and have no gaps. But we didn't start by doing the first section from Minehead to Westward Ho! because we wanted to be sure we managed to do the complete Cornwall coastline first. It is so lovely to watch and recognize this walk. I didn't film our first year of walking so this is great to watch 🙂It was our very first stretch of the SWCP, and a quite tough start in our opinion. Easy and moderate at first, and also at the end, but we measured 19 km and ca 1000 metres of ascent. Pretty much for the frist day. Arrived quite knackered at the New Inn 🙂But we really enjoyed it anyway. Great views and beautiful woods and countryside and rough coastline. And luckily we had just as good weather as you had 🌞 Thank you for sharing. 🙂 Are you going to walk on from The Lizard now?

Thank you. The great thing about the SWCP is that you can do different sections at different times and in any order you wish really. I always admire people who do the route all in one go, but for us life gets in the way! As you'll see in upcoming vlogs we'll do some sections of the southern route (Teignmouth onwards), but not yet from the Lizard. We think we're going to save that section up to Falmouth atleast until next Spring 25. I think we will have to plan that and backpack between B&Bs over several days. As always, thank you so much for following our travels, appreciate your comments and our chats. Kind regards, Simon

@@unowhotravelchannel Yes, gree that it is agreat thing that you can do different sections at different times and in any order you wish. We travel from Norway each summer and then it is convenient for us so start where we stopped last year. I think I enjoy it a lot more this way than doing it in ons go. I get more time to reflect and remember. Another thing is that we don't camp but book accommodations via a company, and we have also luggage transfer and only carry day packs. So the price of that in one go would be enormous 😱😊 Lizard to Falmouth will be lovely in the spring/summer. And the ferries across Gillan estuary and Helford river will be running too I reckon. Looking forward to your next video. I really enjoy them, and I am glad you appreciate my comments and the chats. Kind regsrds, Torunn.

How satisfying to pink out that last section in the north on your map - congrats for that you must be pleased. I'm enjoying the vids and looking forward to more of the south. So, quick query, having set up the whole bridge out jeopardy very nicely, you didn't show us how you crossed, did you go across the bridge or under, was it a scramble, was it a problem or perhaps so little problem it wasn't worth filming. What happened?

Thanks for watching and your kind comments, always appreciated. For some reason I didn't film the actual crossing of the footbridge, probably because it was a bit of a scramble across it (we went over), plus we felt a little bit guilty as it was still officially closed. I was still annoyed at the lack of planning whoever was in charge of the work and disruption, we spoke to several hikers, including a chap from Australia, who was a little put out, not knowing what to do. But hey, one of life's experiences. Thanks again, kind regards, Simon

It is difficult to know when it's ok to bend or break the rules. I guess successful completion means it was ok. If helicopters are involved it's not. I do think that if we could be alerted to the risks and sign a waiver before proceeding, more paths would stay open 😊. Anyway, glad you made it through and save the guilt for the one with the helicopters.

Lovely. I'm pinching your method of not linear completing sections. Makes a lot of sense. Do you get free bus travel in the UK? In Canada no way you'd have buses on our long trails lol
@unowhotravelchannel
@unowhotravelchannel Ай бұрын
Hi Huples, we only get free bus travel at state retirement age, we have a handful of years to wait. However, the bus service in Devon and Cornwall is really inexpensive, a single journey costs a flat £2, whether you're travelling 1 or even 50 miles! It's been really useful for our hiking plans.
