If you are really traveling on a budget, you could save a bunch of money by using the public transport system. The buses and subway are clean, reliable, frequent, very affordable and go everywhere. Also research the ubiquitous "hawker centers", where you can get a wide variety of food like you did in that Marina Bay Food Court, but at 1/3 the price.

So true, that’s why i’m not buying that they are budget travelers as what they claim to be. They basically went around the city using Grab which is more than thrice as pricey than riding the bus, MRT and LRT. Also did not avoid dining at Suntec and Marina which offer hella expensive food 😂😂😂

That's KAYA with salted butter. Kaya is very common in Singapore/Malaysia. Made from eggs, coconut, sugar and pandan. You should have ordered the set that comes with the half boiled eggs, add some soya sauce and pepper in it and perhaps dip your toast into the eggs mix and eat together instead. Kaya and butter toast is a typical breakfast item in Singapore and Malaysia. For cheaper food alternatives, go to the hawker centres instead. There are a few mrt lines going at Suntec City. Perhaps you should have taken the train/bus they are much cheaper. That's what most of the locals travel by as it's cheapest and very convenient. Just tap your card with paywave function. Those are Chinese sausage not hotdog in the char kway tiao😂You should squeeze the lime into the noodles or chilli sauce. You guys should have taken a spoon as well easier to deshell with fork and spoon lol

The stuff that came with the French Toast and was inside the butter sandwich is actually called Kaya, which is a bread spread made from Sugar, Coconut Cream, the juice from Pandan Leaves and Eggs. 2 types of Kaya can be found locally at supermarkets, the most commonly consumed green coloured Nyonya Kaya and the less common brown coloured Hainanese Kaya, which contains honey. The perceived sweetness from the Butter Toast is actually from the Kaya, because the sliced butter found in the toast is actually salted butter.

Really not so for me, their buildings are all the same, 10 to 15 levels and that's it, of course their infrastructures are beautiful and the greenery but after a day, nothing more interesting to see. Hongkong for me is more interesting, the buildings do not look all the same..there are the skyscrapers, the medium buildings and the low buildings which contrast each other. In Singapore they are all medium size buildings which become boring at some point. But the people in Singapore are so friendly than the Chinese in Hongkong. I hated Hongkong for the people who are so unfriendly and will not bat an eye to help you. Singapore and Hongkong though are truly developed at par with the west. Their train or buses from the airport to the rest of the city is just amazing, very very convenient indeed for every traveler. I think both cities had patterned it from San Francisco's bart/train.
