Thats nuts cuz I played Full bystial engine and fiendsmith with Yubel during the summer time. I dont play irl though, felt like it was insane Nib/phantazmay landing on board with Baldrake on their 1st turn was such a good feeling. Only thing I'd add is maybe a Rnk 4 dragon or generic link 2 dragon like tornado dragon or something to get Lube back from grave. Might be able to enable regained turn 1 more consistently. ngl triff starting to make me think he's actually near genius level with all this deck innovation.

I like the bystial cards in general. but I am not sure if they belong here... the deck was already vulnerable to droll and with the bystials even more. I cannot see a really big benefit from maindecking them. Also I cannot find one own copy of droll for crossout target. I am not fully convinced... 🤔

I am no longer in that group that thinks hand traps are bad for the game considering what a board can become when you don't interrupt their plays. BUT 27 HANDTRAPS!? At this point, I want Konami to limit the good hand traps just to break the consistency of it.

Handtraps aren't the problem. Small engines with every single card being a 1 combo starter/extender is the problem here.

@ I agree with that too. This deck build had enough one card starters so that even if he started with 4 hand traps, then that one card could still give him game. I play decks that have 2 card or 1 and 1/2 card combos so I don’t have the luxury of filling my deck with hand traps because then it could just take 1 well timed negate and my turn is over. When it comes to 1 card combos, it doesn’t feel like Konami is likely to hit the enabler. Most of the times they hit something that is enabled by the enabler.

@@dantearmstrong2792 if the 1 card starter gets stopped and you can't play anymore is one thing (imperm on snake eye ash for example), but if that 1 card even negated still allows you to enter your engine its a problem (lacrima negated? Just make requiem)

If Konami does something about handtraps, everyone will complain about low-interaction combo games where dice roll determines the game. IMO that kind of meta is SO MUCH WORSE. Handtraps are good for the game. They ensure interaction from both players starting from turn 1, which is necessary in a game as fast as YGO. Plus, without mulcharmys they’re all cheap! I don’t understand the handtrap problem, going second would be agony without them.

⁠@@9288SaviorI seriously don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, I’m pretty new to the tcg and don’t even have a physical deck I’ve just been playing a ton of omega while saving money. But *why* are so many handtraps a problem? Like, from a gameplay perspective. YGO has been my most fun competitive video game experience in YEARS. I think the interaction is so much fun. I recently 2-0’ed a Maliss Striker player who played the deck really well because my deck was also busted but ALSO because I made good choices. And I went 2nd both rounds. I can actively feel myself improving as a player as I learn more and more about the game. The whole process has been so fun that I bought a notebook to record notes on combo lines so that I remember them better (I only look at my notes during gameplay while testing with my friends, not ever when I queue). If you don’t like the current state of the game… Play GOAT or Edison! It just seems like a majority of the YGO community simply dislikes the game and gets a hate boner shitting on Konami, and that’s a shame because IMO the current format is the most fun YGO has ever been (but seriously, banning original sinful spoils to ruin fire king snake eye budget decks was an awful thing to do Konami, wtf). Wanna get into the game for cheap? The new secret sauce is going to be Danger Darkworld, get it!!! It’s like a $60 deck that has the power to top!!! And guess what, extremely hard to handtrap because your combos start by effect activations in hand! YGO rules!!!
