Great video, thank you. I have always thought them to be somewhat eerie. Whilst often looking out of place they also seem to 'belong'. Also sometimes the view reminds me how small the country is. From the trig point at Painswick Beacon (Kimsbury Hill Fort) , in Glos, you can see all the way up to Shropshire & over to the Black Mountains on a good day. Thanks again.

My late father was a surveyor for the Ordnance Survey. His job was to install and use these trig pillars. Although most are either redundant or destroyed, some are still in active service as GPS master reference points. Those will normally have a plaque on them stating that they are still in use.

Trig bragging, not a term I was familiar with but Trig Stations was familiar to me. In new Zealand we have those still. Not sure whether we have them in the Netherlands. Must look that up. OOPs, I missed the premier. Bagging trig points seems like an awesome quest. Probably some interesting stuff around them. The deed on my first piece of land was marked by oak trees😅. The distance was measured in chains⛓. In that area a light gauge railroad was scrapped, and the rails were driven into the ground as property markers. That was when George Washington was alive. They're still there today. I love history. Thank you Cara. Have an awesome day😍💞🐲

Great video Cara , loved these woods you walked in. So interesting to hear that you have 103 Trig points in Wiltshire and that you are on a quest to find them . I did not know that some can still be found on housing estates either, we have only seen them up mountains :) Intersting to know that the lowest one is at Little Ouse and below sea level and in answer to your question, no i don't know anyone who has bagged all trig points in the UK . You got nice drone footage at Picked Hill I think it was called where there was no access by foot. This was interesting, thanks for sharing and oooo so you have a big adventure coming up in 2024 ? That sounds really exciting :) ~ Anna 👍

Oooh, very interesting Cara. Loved it. If I see any up here I'll let you know. Do they all have that symbol and the os mark? That's exciting, I'll be on the lookout now 👀 😄. Take care, Ellie 🐻🐻🏡
