I highly recommend AHT if they offer a class in your area. Took one back in April and they're coming back to my area in September so I immediately signed up. Rick is an excellent instructor and his AI's were great as well. Highly highly recommend.

He’s pretty much saying to pull the trigger on the reset and to not let it go all the way to mechanical reset cause there’s more room for human error.

Putting more finger on to the trigger I believe it helps to mitigate the movement of two joints and aids the movement of knuckle instead

I have a question regarding the trigger finger movement. If I understand correctly the video suggests I should find the sear break and practice to stop my trigger finger right after the break, not pulling/pinging all the way to the bottom. However, I'm not sure how this would work well in a practical combat situation where the handgun I have may not be the one I practice with, and the sear break position is different, and all my muscle memory of my trigger finger just went out of the window. Wouldn't consistently pulling to the bottom be more versatile?

This will only work on heavy triggers but for comp triggers sub 2 lbs. and you put your finger on the trigger while your muzzle is not parallel to the ground this is extremely dangerous

Hey... wait a moment! Are you placing your trigger finger inside the trigger guard before your support hand meets the pistol? Shouldn't you wait until, at least when the support hand's index finger touch the trigger guard?
@danielbeltranjr
@danielbeltranjr 3 жыл бұрын
Sooner rather than faster. That was his point you can work on speed but if I leave a min before you I’m already faster. He’s also saying once you have good form and posture and you pointed toward the target you place you finger on the trigger and that support hand is already on the way in one motion.
@danielbeltranjr
@danielbeltranjr 3 жыл бұрын
Its also about minimal human error if your going faster that increases the chances of an error if you follow the fundamentals your reducing. Same with the click bang he was talking about your trigger is going to have so many stops before the shot breaks, practice with your dry fires with your trigger and you’ll know exactly how many stops.

Rick my question is this does the this also work and the 1911 platform I love my 1911 and want to learn how to be able to use it properly
@awokeone7997
@awokeone7997 2 жыл бұрын
It applies to 1911, DA/SA & striker fired pistols. When you pull the trigger and your slide goes back to chamber a round, that's when you should reset and prep your trigger to the wall so when your iron sight or red dot is back on target you are ready to shoot another round and you have eliminated more of the human error by not letting the trigger go all the way forward and taking out the slack.

Many thanks for the feedback, absolutely appreciated and we will share it with the team As for the color differences we would like to explain that different materials used are subject to different lighting, so the colors vary due to that more than in reality. But indeed we are using different materials as well for those two pieces. As the production process and light reflection of the materials differ, there might be slight differences in the colors, but we are trying to keep them as close as possible.

So trying to fire the follow up shot prior to the mechanical click and instead firing from when the sear resets? Do I have that right ?
@jamescrowe7892
@jamescrowe7892 3 жыл бұрын
Just let the trigger out all the way. Don't get bogged down with the point in which it resets. You won't be thinking about audible clicks.
@impactaustria
@impactaustria 3 жыл бұрын
Just try to reset the trigger during recoil, and not after. So that you're at the wall ready to fire again BEFORE the gun has fully recovered from recoil. Of course you won't be able to outrun the slide, but you will be able to outrun your recoil control. This way you're able to instantly fire the moment the sight picture tells you "good to go" after the previous shot. Works on all semiauto platforms. Just make sure you're neither shortstroking (failing to reset) the trigger ("trigger freeze") nor resetting too aggresively or you will risk NDing the following shot over the target.

why would you ever want to have your finger even near the trigger before you roughly point your gun towards where you're shooting at. like this you're going to sweep everything from your toes towards the bad guy, not even to speak what this haste can do to your awareness of stuff behind your target.

“Every bullet is attached to a lawyer”. Then why would you “prep the trigger” before you are on target? I’d strongly disagree. Finger shouldn’t touch that trigger until your sights are on target generally…. Unless it’s hip shooting
@StutteRx
@StutteRx Жыл бұрын
Haha. You've never been in a gun fight. Everything is contextual. If a dude is 15 yard away or 4 yards away, prepping the trigger before you fully extend can help in taking shots sooner. Plenty of people who show how to shoot from retention and continue to shoot while extending, putting effecting shots on target. If you aren't confident with your firearm, just say so.

Minor bitch point- to whoever does the editing; THE FUCKING MUSIC IS TOO FUCKING LOUD!!! I am NOT going to wear earpro to watch a video!!! That said, good content. You may need to go into more detail to explain the difference between sear reset and manufacture reset particularly because not all handguns follow the same design. OTOH a lot of guys really can't feel the many click points between touching the trigger and BANG.

Modern quality made firearms are very much good to go on dry firing. Not only is dry firing cheap and easy to do at any time, it’s a great way to hone in your skills every day without having to go to the range. I would very much recommend dry fire practice such as reloads, getting on target, and trigger control.
