I just saw your webpage, and I just could say "wow" because it's so awesome, I want to thank you so much! I'm from the Dominican Republic and we have serious math issues, as in, we have a very low level. Currently I'm studying in Romania and facing the math level here induced me a state of deep depression. But now I'm coming up and recovering everything that I did not learn. I hope some day we will have better text books and better training to teach our near-future generations, good math and good science! I am really thankful for the material you uploaded and the explanation.

Do we not change the range in part 2 to 0 to 180 as it is a 1/2

This is really good but you butchered it with the cast diagram. Scrap that just use the unit circle. I know it's the same thing but the real term is the unit circle. And draw the circle! then all you need to do is draw the cosx=1/2 line (i.e. a vertical line at 1/2 on the horizontal axis) and fill the two angles subtended by the line intersecting the unit circle. It's very simple this was and 1000% more intuitive.

are 120 and 240 not also solutions?

you forgot to mention on part two that the graph is streched on the x axis by 2. Hence we might've needed to resolve for other answers

Not at all, they would have been out of range as it is basically the same equation as (i) so we should be aware of doubling the answers as I showed and so there would not be a problem. I would agree with your point though if it were 2(theta) as this would have drawn in angles that were outside the original range in (i) and would have been valid.

wouldn't 120 will be a -120 instead because it will be in the second quadrant ?
