knobby tires in the FRONT, semi-slick in the BACK if you want to mix the tires (which is a good idea in general). but badlands calls for a full set of knobbies imo.
@mikemono2 жыл бұрын
Yeah at the end I did go for the knobbies (profile). Overall most of the riders had semi slick tires

Congrats on such a strong finish - Amazing. How did it play out for your chain? After a dusty 150 to 200 km my waxed chains are pretty tired. With your finishing time, I assume you had no chance to use drip wax and let it "take" while you were sleeping. How did you make your math work out (obviously it did, based on your time!!) ??
@mikemono2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike! Thanks a lot! I dont think the chain did the work. I had less time to prepare due to my full time job but I did some key training sessions that turned out pretty well. Anyway, I took away all the industrial grease of the chain with a break cleaner. After that I put the chain in a parafin bath. This made the chain more resistant against dirt. I thought that this was enoguh but during the ride I used some squirtx every time I stopped to refill. So I applied some fluid wax 3 to 5 times during the race. I think its difficult to ride this race without any lube or wax with you just because there is sand everywhere. Hope this helps

@@mikemono Thanks a bunch - Makes sense, glad you were able to add the Squirt drip wax and keep rolling. Again, well done.👍

Hey Mike, nice videos - keep up the good work! Would you run the Tailfin again or go with a different solution (weight/stability etc)?
@mikemono Жыл бұрын
It’s definitely the best in terms of stability - what is in my opinion the most important thing . Maybe I would not go next time with it because I would like to save the weight to be faster. If you take it not toooooo serious I would go for it . At least I was able to take place 10 with it . If you are interested I have a promo code MONO20 for a discount

Sehr interessantes Video!
@mikemono2 жыл бұрын
@johnschmitt30832 жыл бұрын

Is it true that they have a weird axle width of 125 front and 165 rear? Or is the advertisement online wrong and its actually 100 front and 142 rear? Thanks
