Trijicon RCR vs RMR HD, RMR and Holosun 509t

Good video. I just got home after buying a EPS Carry MRS. I thought about getting the Trijicon RCR. However, if they aren't going to take me to diner before they screw me, then I'm not paying extra for it.

Within 2 months my eps lost some features like shake a wake and the ability to function properly...ditched it and got the HD and RCR Holosun will never get any of my moines

I went with an eps carry mrs (red) for my Glock 19 and got the slide milled by battlewerx for direct mount…the old stock iron (plastic) sights still cowitness it’s so low and the carry got a rear sight built in as well! Plus, super mini optic on full size slide means no “muffin top” hang over on the edges. Its perfect. Now I’m here for the “toughest pistol red dot” cuz I’m doing a 12 o’clock mounted dot on my lpvo scoped rifle and wanted something tough, as it’s the first thing to hit the ground in many drop scenarios. So that titanium shell and enclosed emitter are great selling points for me!! The solar added to our dots and the 509t are also great! They’ll work with the battery dead anyway.

First time watching. Appreciate the video! I like your reasoning behind the four. It really helps us who have had a few others, just not all at once to compare (not including the new ones lol). Just a little constructive criticism, so please don’t take this the wrong way. Instead of saying “this”, it’d be super helpful if you said the name rather than point. I value your input since you're one of the very few who have an RCR in hand. I placed my order on OpticsPlanet forever ago for an RCR, and the ship date kept getting pushed back later and later. This would be going on my Glock 17. I have an EPS carry for my 43x and an EPS carry for my P365x CCW. So I thought keeping my training as close as possible, l'd go for a full sized EPS for my home defense handgun. If you were in my spot, would you choose the RCR over the EPS even if it differed from an optic you already trained a lot with? I planned on getting a Radian Guardian for the EPS whenever that gets back in stock. I'm not sure if they'll be able to make a Guardian for the RCR due to the footprint. Money isn't a factor in any of this fwiw.

Thank you for asking my opinion. I have an eps carry on another of my pistols and I enjoy it a lot. It sits much lower and I do like it overall. I don’t think I will choose the RCR over the eps. I think if they just came out with a hybrid of the rcr and HD it would have been a completely different situation but this was too little too late for trijicon. Even if there is a problem with your holosun the customer service makes sense for the investment. It’s 2023 and people have way more options. The RCR is a good optic but that’s not good enough anymore.

How big is the RCR window vs the 509T? Im looking for offset Dot on rifle

@@VariaVante got it thanks! I went ahead and ordered the 509T FDE. Im going to try top mount first on top a Trijicon 3-9x40 accupoint. Maybe cheek riser too, go offset if not happy with it…

Imo a red dot is a red dot. At a certain price point you are paying for the name. Holosun is giving companies a run for their money and have good quality. I say that with intentions of buying an rmr

I have the RMR Type 2 on my pistol and it has worked out great. But if I had to pick again I would get the RCR only because it is an enclosed optic. I just bought the 509Tx2 for my Benelli M4 so I have yet to run it, but everyone says it's a great optic. My first choice for the shotgun was the RCR but Scalar Works did not have them in stock nor did they have the RMR plate in stock either.

Man I appreciate your review. Good information. I just purchased a 509T. I haven't ruled out Trijicon. I am a Holosun Guy, BUT, The tech is changing on Dots. Some say the RMR HD is a revamped SRO. For range and Carry Holosun works just fine. If I were a LEO I might have a different view. I have the latest version 507c with the ACSS reticle. it is nice. About 2 weeks ago I replaced my fist battery on my Gen 1 507c. I was amazed it lasted 5 years. There's that. Trijicon is catching up in features. When they come on par in features. It will be unique for us consumers. The RCR and the RMR HD should have had the same features. Well there's always the next Gen.

It’s kind of hard to go back to Trijicon or any other optic after using the Sig Romeo 4T. The high end Sig optics are great quality and the aspherical lenses have ZERO distortion. It’s like looking through an EOTECH. The SIGs reticle is super crisp for my eyes too. I just hope Sig hurries up and makes an enclosed Romeo X. Gunscom said they are making one along with green dot options. If it’s like the Romeo M17 just with a non proprietary footprint I’m sold.

I have a 509t and eps carry Been debating if I want to try and find a rcr…. My gut has been telling me the 509t is better value still…. This video I think confirmed that. Thank you Idk why they didn’t give the rcr the upgrades of the HD. Complete stupidity if you ask me on behalf of Trijicon. Also think their mounting system is a real joke IMO
