The Trilene Knot. Find out “How To” tie another great fishing knot, designed by professional anglers Jimmy Houston and Ricky Green in the late 1970s. Both men favoured the idea of naming the knot after themselves, though Trilene ultimately applied its own name. Join Warren at Toit fishing with a step by step tutorial on how to tie this easy knot. The main difference between the Trilene knot and its predecessors is the introduction of a secondary wrap around the hook eye with an amended tuck at the end.

Hi nigtturner, I have a video with a few knots tested. It’s titled Knot Lubrication it actually tests various lubrication methods including none. It may be of interest. Did they provide any testing to back up there claim, I would be interested to see if they did. Tightlines

Hi Nature Green, yes indeed, I do a series of videos called the WSFK (Worlds Strongest fishing Knot) where I test these knots and it will show you the braid line category and give you all the tips and tricks I used to maximize strength etc. You will be able to see the braid trilene knot being tested. This knot is the worst to cinch as it doesn't slide freely as it locks itself. The advice to use your fingers to slide the knot confirms my observation.

Hi Alex, agreed it’s not the easiest, but it does perform really well on the testing side of things especially on the thinner lines. Many bass anglers like this knot as it leaves the tag end facing away from the direction of travel for lures etc. Less moss and weed get stuck on the knot.Tightlines
