I think what was really interesting about this song is, it starts out with a lot of classic Seventeen elements (the grooviness of the first verse, along with the sampled bass/guitar from Adore U). And then they continually introduce new things throughout the song and finally combine both parts of the chorus AND the 2'd verse into an explosive final chorus. Which is just so cool and also calls back to the overarching theme of AIs. A lot of generative AIs basically regurgitate a mash up of what they're fed with, and the result is often disorganized and grotesque. It's just not quite right. On the other hand, Maestro's last chorus is also a mash up of previous parts of the song but everything sounds perfect together and instead of drowning each other, it just amplifies the overall energy. It's very clear that each section was composed so it could stand on its own while also sounding harmonious when played with the rest. Everything was made with purpose and intent, which is something AI just can't achieve because they can only copy things and aren't capable of thinking on their own (yet).

I'm so incredibly proud of Wonwoo for this Maestro era🥹 His dance break part WOW, his acting for the fighting scene in the MV, him as the MV thumbnail, him as the ending fairy, and also his fierce rap part in LALALI!! He did great! All of them did a great job!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🔥

Your reactions are always refreshing and informative! The fact that you know their past discography and composing style really adds to the analysis like no one else does.

Funny how you mentioned that DK part reminds you of 'Thanks' Although I'm not sure if 'Thanks' sample was used for this song. But Woozi said 'Maestro' is a combination of seventeens title tracks. He used about 7 different samples. Songs that were mentioned are adore u, rock with you, oh my, aju nice, cheers. For example, at the beginning of Mingyu's part you can hear guitar instrumentals from 'adore u', Vernon's part has whistle notes and beats from 'cheers'

I think it's cool that when they flashed the question, "Who is the real MAESTRO?" the next thing they showed was svt's logo. It's like saying in this era where AI can make art, it will always be svt who will make their own music.

MAESTRO highlights a provocative message: "Who is the true maestro in the world we live in today, where artificial intelligence can produce anything?" Indeed, another masterpiece! 🔥🪄

This song and MV feels like a bunch of callbacks to older concepts and songs and I'm not talented enough to list them all but I really want someone else to. Like the start sounds like Adore U, that one part sounds like Thanks and looks like Rock with you. When the song cuts and Mingyu is running it reminds me of Boom Boom. The walking backwards in red is Ruby. There's so much more and I'm sure its intentional to be like mix and match of what they've done so far but also an AI copying their content. Idk but it's so cool

I think the reason why the song felt so long is because they had so many different melodies in each section, therefore splitting it up even more in a way. I just want to put my thought out there about the song structure: the first verse is mingyu, vernon and scoups, pre-chorus 1 is woozi, pre-chorus 2 is DK. Then the chorus has two parts: part 1 is the La La La part, part 2 is Good life, Good vibe. The second verse is Wonwoo, Jun and Hoshi, they just changed up the melody and make it different for each member. Then they jumped straight into Seungkwan's pre-chorus 2, then back with the 2 part-chorus. The bridge is Minghao, Scoups, Dino and DK's high note, leading into the dance break being in place of the first part of the chorus, and then they ended off with the second part of the chorus:))) The structure is certainly super fascinating lol!!!!

Theres actually lore so Hoshi is the Fake aka AI Maestro and in the intro he's the only one glitching and the only one who has the stick in the choreo in the MV and mingyu is helping him and mingyu is the guard and he's holding a guard mask and wearing like a guard suit when he's walking on stage he's wearing what the guards were wearing and when he turned around the8 caught him and then hoshi got caught and in the MV intro he was kneeling and he gave the stick to Wonwoo THE REAL MAESTRO and then Mingyu is still hiding

Why don't I see you in my YT reccs anymore. 😭
@hinasevat9 ай бұрын
As a plli carat, I didn't know I was gonna hear abt plave here lol anyways, I think the overarching story is that they were trying to save hoshi from the AIs who took over the city. In the mingyu part, I think it can symbolize how robots/AI are getting good at mimicking humans that it is difficult to differentiate. Nevertheless, they can't be human, and we can feel it. Also, humans are so complex that even the best robots can't keep up. The robots following the moves of the members just prove that human creation can only copy us, but our creativity is what drives them. Therefore, they can never be better than us. Other than the lyrics, the MV is also filled with musical instruments/tools/ elements as background/setting.
