Trim / tilt repair on suzuki df30 outboard

I have one exactly the same, my question is is is it possible to change the rod oil seal that raises the engine? Mine loses over there

@tonicerda9474 yes you can take the ram appart.i think you need a spanner with 2 pins on it like one you use to change an angle grinder blade

I've got a suzuki 40hp but it looks pretty similar. What would cause the trim to not go down? Goes up every time with no issues but last year I would have to hit the switch maybe 50 or more times and it would finally go down. Now this year I can't get it to go down at all but I can hear the relay clicking every push of the switch. I can lower it by turning the bypass screw but thats it.

Try touching the 2 wires direct to a battery I think there Green and blue. So one wire to + and other the ground and then switch them over. All the relays do is switch polarity and spin the motor backwards. This method will illiminate the relays being at fault. And check connections inside motor.

I have Suzuki df90 my tilt only works sometimes I think I have electric problems.

Check your connections sounds like a corroded connection. Is it on the controls or on the engine it's intermitent

@@peteramberley9952 if I hold down on safety leveling switch it will go down but not up. I can hear the relay clicking but will only go down.

@@peteramberley9952 I never know that connection was there until now so it will probably be very corroded. Thanks for your help

@@peteramberley9952 why would they but a connection there under front of motor in a place where it is going to get corroded.

@@timfunk5084 don't know why but put a direct feed to the 2 wires from the pump. One positive one to the negative. Doesn't mater which way. Then change to spin the motor other direction
