I run the Husqvarna 525l, Stihl KM-94R, and for the brush and heavy overgrowth I run a Stihl FS 250R with a brush saw blade. Hey if one of you trimmers or any other two cycle are a bit laggy/boggy when you first start them up try richening up the high speed screw slowly until it doesn't hesitate to scream when you nail the throttle. Generally helps from what I have learned. Might even help the top rpms as weird as it sounds. Bogging means that engine is not happy. Either on the fuel side or the exhaust is not flowing enough out. That's why I take the mufflers off, Cook them with a torch and reinstall once a year so I can eliminate that as a possible problem. I am the only one who works on my equipment.

According to the instructions, my gas trimmer (different brand) requires 10 pushes of the primer bulb before starting. I am not saying you aren't following your instructions, but I would prime the heck out of it before starting. I might add my gas trimmer is a 28 year old McCulloch. If I follow the instructions (10 pushes of the primer bulb & hold the throttle trigger in), it usually starts about the same for cold starts (3-4 pulls to get a putt, move choke to start/run, 1-2 more pulls to take off). It needed a carburetor kit last summer. Hoses, gas filter, and a few other items have been replaced/fixed over time. I typically take care of 2-4 lawns per summer, & I use the brush blade at times, too. I would like a new trimmer, but this one won't die! I would try priming the heck out of it, because it may be easier on your arm & pull cord.

@zerocool2121213 жыл бұрын
The 230ts is steps behind the 260 power wise I didnt like it having both to compare, when starting them prime it till the primer is full then 2 times to make sure gas/air is purged, after that choke on and pull while holding the throttle. If your having carb issues take a drill bit and around 3 rotations into the white plastic piece under the carb will pull the plug out then you can just use a flat head to adjust the mix :) I kinda want to see if it starts after sitting all winter and its snowing out and how many pulls the 260 will take. My easiest and most reliable trimmer ever has been shindiawa but for weight/power redmax 260 is king. for real heavy work either 131r or bcz350s and each one has its pro/con. 131 better fuel econ but harder to feather where the pure 2strokes are always easy to dial in the rpms. Once you figure out the redmax you will see its easy to start, every trimmer ive had has vapor locked in the summer heat at one point or another which is normally from a pluged vent making the gas boil while in the tank.
@zerocool2121213 жыл бұрын
so i went an tested mine did 2 primes after gas filled the primer took 5/6 pulls @23f deg without being touched in months, you could tell once fuel got to it it fired right up, so defiantly try starting it full choke with the throttle engaged till it pops over then let it warm up for 30-60 seconds depending on ambient temp
