hi, i have a SIB, 84lbs 3m inflatable with air floor. yamaha 6hp 4stroke, 60lbs,trim pin at 1st position by transom. i just can't get it to go faster than 8mph, can't expect any planing. at full throttle the stern sinks and bow raises, total weight; 2x people+cargo+engine 390lbs do i need a bigger engine? or ride with 1 passenger only. with one passenger it would weigh, 295lb. Should i buy a 9.9hp 2 stroke or get a 9.9hp 4stroke? 4 strokes are heavy, and do you think its ok to put a 15hp 2stroke on it? the boat is rated for 10hp outboard and overall carrying weight of 1100lbs. thanks for your time.

im on 3rd Bass boat in 12 yrs. This is my 2nd Ranger. It won Trim past 1/4 on plane. both my other Bass boats would trim to 1/2 with no problem allowing for much more speed and fuel economy. What can be done to correct this?

When you let off the throttle and the boat starts slowing down the back end of the boat starts sinkin back down in the water and your wave behind you is traveling faster than you are now. When you see the little wave get close to the back of your boat just kind of goose the throttle a bit. Just a little and let back off and it will keep the wave from coming over the back of your boat and getting your carpet wet

Jadiel 254 your slowing down to quickly and displacing a large amount of water with your hull. The water rushing back at you is the equal reaction to displacing all that water. Anticipate slowing down ahead of time and drop speed slowly

Ken Fung just give it gas at the end, slowing the rate you decelerate doesn’t help that. Your boat is still going to sink down and have a wave come at you.

NO. Cavitate does NOT mean "sucking air into" anything, not in any way or form. This was a useful trimming routine, but please know what you're advising before doing so, and please don't attempt to talk about physics without knowing (éven) the básics... How can the viewers whom don't know you, trust anything you say after such an ignorant comment. That said, great protocol, thank you for that...
