Hey Luke, dermatologists use a scissor that is kinda micro-serrated for mole removal that grip the tissue a bit and keep it from sliding out from between the blades. I bet a pair of those would make it go quicker while still being cautious.

I feel like this video is gonna get a lot of hate since people will think he is hurting the goldfish. Trimming wen is like trimming your nails. You gotta do it before it gets too long and yes it can hurt the goldfish slightly just like it can hurt us if we cut our nails a bit too short. Same thing and the goldfish will recover quickly if he cuts too deep.

The problem is this is the fish equivalent of a pug. I'm sorry, but anybody who thinks this animal has a good healthy life is kidding themselves. Ranchus especially always look like they're struggling to exist. If an animal needs a human to trim it's flesh constantly to survive then guess what? It shouldn't survive. This is the exact OPPOSITE of the point of life.

You may already know that the wens of Orandas, Ranchus and Lionheads continue to grow and sometimes they cover the eyes blinding the fish. When this happens, it’s recommended to cut back or trim the wen. The wen is just a growth; much like our hair and fingernails. It continues to grow for the lifespan of the fish. When the wen becomes so large the fish is weighed down, or the nose or the gills are being obstructed, it’s health is at risk

I came across this video by... I dunno, KZbin's unfathomable recommendations logic, and I know nothing, nada, zilch and zip about fish in general. So forgive my entire, full and total lack of knowledge, but... ...would there be any issue with removing all of that wen thing? Would there be any benefit? Like I said, I know nothing 'bout fish, so I'm just applying logic from my perspective: if I had something growing out of my face, I'd want it off, fully, yesterday, lol. So... I'm curious about why it's trimmed and not removed entirely.
