I don’t think I have EVER seen people get so worked up over a fiqh matter. I wish people had this kind of zeal for creed, but no, when it comes to creed, its brushed under the rug.

My beloved akh faris. I'll have to tell you that you're wrong regarding this. The revelation is clear regarding this matter because there are like 6 different narrations in the beard that explicitly state that the beard should be left alone. And as the scholars say, there is no ijtihad with clear ahadeeth. Eventhough I used to personally follow the hadeeth of ibn umar in cutting what grows over a fistful, however I wasn't comfortable opposing the clear ahadeeth of the prophet ﷺ, so it's safer to just leave it as is. وفقنا الله وإياكم لمراضيه.

This video is not correct. The revelation is clear regarding this matter because there are many narrations about the beard that explicitly state that the beard should be left alone. The scholars say, there is no ijtihad with clear ahadeeth. We don't respect opinions where there is clear hadeeth which inform us against the opinion. Eventhough I used to personally follow the hadeeth of ibn umar in cutting what grows over a fistful, however I wasn't comfortable opposing the clear ahadeeth of the prophet ﷺ, so it's safer to just leave it as is.

بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الل Answer from our Shaykh Muhammad bin Hizaam حفظه الله although he is of the opinion similar to that of the scholars of najd, he presents the dala’il. He was asked the following: Question: The questioner asks: What is the ruling of the one who cuts his beard and makes it the same level all around? The answer: It is impermissible for him to cut his beard, not shaving it nor cutting it, because the Prophet (ﷺ) said: (خالفوا المشركين، أحفوا الشوارب وأعفوا اللحى) “Oppose the polytheists, Trim the mustache and let the beard grow.” Agreed upon on the authority of ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنهما) and it has been reported by Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) with the wording: (جزوا الشوارب وأرخوا اللحى، خالفوا المجوس) “Trim closely the moustache, and grow the beard, and thus act in opposition to the fire-worshippers” So there is no cutting and no shaving, all of it is impermissible. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to have a thick beard as has been mentioned by the companions. And from those who mentioned it is ‘Ali bin Abi Taalib (رضي الله عنه) as has come in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad, and it has come from other than him whereby they described the Prophet (ﷺ) as having a dense beard. Which of the two is better for you O Muslim: That your role model be the Messenger (ﷺ) or the disbelievers? The Answer: There is no comparison. So how do you choose for yourself to shave your beard or to cut it and thus oppose your Messenger and your Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The best of guidance is the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). ﴿لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ﴾ “Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow" So follow your Prophet! Some of them say: If he lets it grow then he will be misrepresented as being from the upright individuals, and he is weak in his uprightness. This is from the footsteps of Shaytaan and from the temptations of Shaytaan. And it is to be said to him: Be upright as you have been commanded, as Allah (عز وجل) states to His Prophet: ﴿فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَمَنْ تَابَ مَعَكَ﴾. “So stand (ask Allah to make) you (Muhammad ﷺ) firm and straight (on the religion of Islamic Monotheism) as you are commanded and those (your companions) who turn in repentance (unto Allah) with you” Be firm and upright in all your affairs, in the issue of the beard and all your affairs, be upright. It is impermissible for a Muslim to leave off uprightness in all his affairs. Allah (عز وجل) said to His Prophet: ﴿فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَمَنْ تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلا تَطْغَوْا إِنَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ﴾ So stand (ask Allah to make) you (Muhammad ﷺ) firm and straight (on the religion of Islamic Monotheism) as you are commanded and those (your companions) who turn in repentance (unto Allah) with you and transgress not (Allah’s Legislations). Verily, He is All-Seer of what you do.” And it has come on the authority of ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنهما) that he used to cut from his beard that which exceeds a fist length during Hajj and Umrah, and this is Ijtihaad (independent reasoning) from him (رضي الله عنهما) and this is not agreed with. The companions did not used to cut it, it has come on the authority ‘Uthmaan bin ‘Affaan (رضي الله عنه) that his beard was long, and it has come on the authority of ‘Ali bin Abi Taalib (رضي الله عنه) that his beard used to be large, and it has not been reported from them that they used to trim their beards that which exceeds a fist length, hence this is ijtihad from ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنهما). Rather, it has not been reported from any of the companions that the Prophet (ﷺ) trimmed what exceeds a fist length during his Hajj or ‘Umrah. So upon a Muslim is to abide by the generality of the evidence; (جزوا الشوارب وأرخوا اللحى) "Trim closely the moustache, and grow the beard” and thus leaving it as Allah has commanded.

I'm pretty sure 95% of the scholars have unanimously agreed that trimming the beard is haram. The only exception is trimming it above the fist length, which is only done because some of the sahabah did it (Ibn Umar(RA) , Ibn Abbas(RA), Abu hurayra(RA). Other than that, no other sahabah trimmed their beard and left their beard alone. We know that the practice of the sahabah is superior to every other practice other than rasulullah(SAW) I'm sorry sheikh, I respect you highly and may Allah reward you for the good you've done, but you're wrong here. I'd highly suggest you watch this video for clarification: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHTWhnSGZdegsKc&pp=ygUXdXRobWFuIGlibiBmYXJvb3EgYmVhcmQ%3D

*No "Refuting" in differences of opinions related to Ijtihad* Ibn Qudaamah al-Maqdisi said: No one should denounce anyone for following his madhab, for there is no denunciation with regard to issues that are subject to ijtihaad. [Al-Adaab al-Shar’iyyah by Ibn Muflih 1/186] Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: With regard to matters of ijtihaad, they are not to be denounced by force, and no one has the right to force the people to follow him with regard to them, but he may speak of them on the basis of evidence. Whoever thinks that one of the two views is correct should follow it, and whoever follows those who favour the other view should not be denounced. [Majmoo’ al-Fataawa 30/80]

And here is my problem I don't cut it yet but it itches a lot on top of that I am a criminal in the eyes of everyone due to my appearance with the beard because I indeed look like a drug addict. Now our prophet Mohammed S. A. W Did say to shorten the mustache and let the beard grow. But the thing is I am not shaving it and it will still grow I am not even doing laser treatment, it will still grow and in this age Me keeping a beard like this is a huge red flag for the society and even the eyes of my parents. I am a bit concerned Because when there are differences of opinions that means it is not clear. I like a short beard as it gives the vibe I want basically the manly vibe because a shaved face feels like I turned into a women. But a Beard this big is too hard.

How can it be that all the 'Ulāma of the Salaf (like those you counted) follow the opinion, to leave the beard or only cut it at hajj (and both opinion are following the prophet and sahabah; ibnu 'umar) and we choose another way then the way of the prophet and the sahabah? ومن يشاقق الرسول(…) This is from the hawa and nothing more then a step to follow the foodsteps of the Nasara and Mushriks instead of being eager to esemble the Prophet ﷺ and his Sahābah. He commanded us to follow his sunnah but at the same time he reported us, whoms sunnah we will follow in reallity. .Allahul musta‘ān.

Ibn Uthaymeen (Rahimuhullah) said it is sinful to trim the beard, and many other ulama. He also said trimming is better than shaving at least, but you are still sinning. And the trimming is most likely above the fistful by the way not below as many scholars and sahabas hold the opinion that it is allowed to trim the beard past a fistful.
