The rubber cover on the bottom is for a non existent hdmi port that they were planning to include on the device but ended up scrapping it to cut costs

If you want to use melonDS you have to change the core within the command line on the SD card or you can load up retroarch and make a playlist with the core you like.

Latest firmware update v1.0.3 seems to fix the Favorites - and adds customizable Fn button function.

You can change the LED’s to whatever you want, just need to a PC and make the changes in the code on the SD card.

Great review! - I had much of the same experience. I'm suspecting that TrimUI actually removed the FN functionality in the latest firmware.

Also can easily change the backgrounds and icons of the consoles very easily too. Just change a few command lines.

Make it plain there are no Bios or Roms in the Trimui Smart Pro ? If you have no knowledge of flashing your card and unzipping the right folders then it’s difficult. I wish someone would make a video for those who found it difficult like myself.

You need to do some research before you do a review, the FN switch is now active and you can choose your options for it. It’s available with the 1.0.3 update.

The LED lighting that you appear to be so hung on about is a PERSONAL PREFERENCE. It should have zero impact on the score for this device.
