When I saw aoyama with his hand covering his mouth and looking almost in tears I was really shocked- he's always so happy and confident but there he was hugging his knees and really worried, not acting like his usual self at all- it pained me to see it even if it was only on the screen for a few seconds. I'm happy midoriya confessed being scared too- it was long overdue and you could tell it was effecting him and his mental health a lot (not in a good way)

I think what makes this comic dub movie touch my heart is something surprisingly pure. A lot of these sorts of comics seem to more or less exist in their own little bubbles of the fandom. They have the personality and spark of the original cast being put into new and amusing scenarios that, while not canon, we the viewer/reader can imagine taking place in the main storyline. Some comics are more heavily exaggerated than others, existing for some kind of specific joke. This would make them disconnected from the official storyline. For those kinds of comics, you don't have to focus on the entirety of the history a character may have. It's simplified. This comic was different. It had plenty of silly scenarios that didn't happen in the manga or anime for My Hero Academia, yet each one could easily be pictured as taking place in a little 'slice of life' style storytelling moment. It even had some over the top insane humor sprinkled in like how Kirishima declared the 'Skeleton Man' as really being Santa Claus. My sides went into orbit for that one. Also, "Yugi-O's". Brilliant. XD Then the ending. This was remarkable. The entire video so far has been highlighting the simple ways that All Might interacts with his students and the world around him and how they in turn grow as people in simple little ways. And all of a sudden, the scene snaps to All Might during his final fight with All For One. The carefree fun of the video has been shattered and is suddenly DIRECTLY connected to one of the most brutal and emotional sequences My Hero Academia has to offer. The art style is maintained, meaning the simple designs are now SHARPLY juxtaposed against seeing this simple 'Skeleton Man' be on the brink of death trying to stop a mad man from hurting anyone else. And in that moment, all of his students cheer as one that he can win. Why? Because they BELIEVE in him. They know how All Might is not just a man who can punch things really hard. He's a man who does what he can to make the world a better place on a small scale as well. The idea that this world is more dangerous than they may have realized in their day to day lives is crystalized for them. That without All Might at full power anymore it would soon be up to them to carry on the mantle of responsibility. That THEY would be the ones to make the world a better place with kindness and decency while also being ready to stand up and fight for a better tomorrow. Which is what My Hero Academia is all about. ^_^ TL;DR Don't underestimate a comic just because the art style is cute. It could still have the strength to sucker punch your emotions.
