Nice stroll. If you delve deeper to the right past the first gazebo, there is an old bridge but it's overgrown with another overgrown trail that connects to that track u trekked to Lady chancellor road. The butterfly diversity of the Botanical Gardens when the 2016 Bioblitz was held there came up to I think it was 45 species within the 24 hour survey time. It's nice they have introduced a butterfly garden. The black and red butterfly you saw was a Postman Butterfly (Heliconius sp. possibly melpomene) and the other was a Monarch (Danaus plexippus) . The tropical.milkweed plant which it was feeding on is it's host plant for caterpillars. They are becoming scarce so it is nice to see them. Enjoyed this video and the thoughts shared by yourself and the public :)

Wow, thank you so much for this info, it’s greatly appreciated and I’m glad you enjoyed this one… just the other day I was chatting with a friends about how we’re not seeing as much butterflies as we use to in our younger years, so I’m also happy to see them kinda coming back

@@TrinbagoVibes You're welcome. There is a butterfly field guide for Trinidad and Tobago printed by the Trinidad and Tobago field naturalists club. They were on sale in local bookstores. I don't know if there are anymore prints remaining, as it was issued in 2015. You may find it online. It's a nice starting point to learning about the butterflies of T&T, by using photographs of the adults. Rainy season is a hotspot for the rarer species and mostly new hatchlings as there is an increased abundance of food for the adults. The Barcant Butterfly Display at the Angostura Museum in Angostura is worth checking out. It houses all species of butterflies from Trinidad and Tobago collected by Malcolm Barcant in the early 1900s. Maybe a future video for avid butterfly lovers :) Sadly with deforestation and constant increasing population size, the majority of host plants are dwindling and it threatens butterfly populations today. Some butterflies are localized to just one area in Trinidad while some are more widespread. It's up to us to prevent them from becoming endangered.

Put Jesus first, What school needs to teach children is that trade is a good thing, how the system set up is for most people to think about being, doctor lawyer, accoutant etc because of the income and self status, my mom got everyone of us to do a trade, i was like i don't wa get my hands dirty doing work, i wanna seat in a office in ac and get money, well boy covid open my eyes, when everyone got sent some it was the same trade i fall back on to see us through, it was eye opening.
@TrinbagoVibes

Agreed, too many paths that traditional school sends you ends up in some over-saturated fields and the best thing is to learn a trade
