Hello! Can one omit the powdered milk off it's not avaliable and just have an the over ingredients? (Same for the kurma)? Great videos! Thanks😊

Yes you can. The powder milk and coconut milk powder are both optional, or if you have only 1 you can add a little extra. It will still turn out delicious! 😊🙌

I thought this was methai and gulab jamoon is round, soaked in sugar syrup. I like this with grated coconut. Gulab jamoon is a bit harder to make .
@banzaitnt Жыл бұрын
This is what Trinidadians refer to as gulab jamun. What you know as gulab jamun they call rasgula. So you are not mistaken. This is called mithai in many places though mithai is a collective term for sweets.

How to make soft goola jamoon
@joyfuloven Жыл бұрын
Hi, make sure that the dough is soft when you knead it, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before rolling. The Gulab Jamoon would stay soft for days. 😊

Hi Joy. I saw someone added custard powder to the dough mixture, will that help with the flakeness
@joyfuloven Жыл бұрын
Hi, I’m not sure. I haven’t seen that recipe, but it seems like it will add more to a creamy texture. If you keep the dough soft and fry on a low heat, it will develop the perfect flaky and crisp texture that keeps for days. 😉

is there a lot of sugar syrup left over? looks like you used half of the amount you made..... don't want a lot left over
@joyfuloven Жыл бұрын
Hi, yes there was some left over that I stored in the freezer to reuse. I used about 2/3 only because I don’t like too thick of a sugar coating.

Thank you for sharing! 😊 Happy you and your family enjoyed it. If the syrup boils too much, add just a few drops of water to thin it out and stir well before pouring it over the Gulab Jamoon. 😉

Looks great would like to try this recipe. How long would this last? What cam be added for long shelf life like those in the supermarket?
@joyfuloven Жыл бұрын
Hi, these typically stay really well, up to two weeks, stored in a container with a tight lid. The sugar acts as a preservative. If you knead the dough soft, then the Gulab Jamoon would stay soft. I’m not sure about adding artificial preservatives. 🧐

Hi, in Trinidad we call this one Gulab Jamun, and the one soaked in syrup we call Rasgulla. It's the other way around in some countries including India, so that's why I added 'Trini" in the recipe description. I'm sorry if it's confusing..😊
