Alan, Trinidad Land of the Humming Bird,Cascadura and Callalloo has much good to still offer visitors and the beleagured nation of good people, blighted by craven wickedness of their fellows.Your evocative video brings back clear memories of its unique tropical environment and the rich multicultural society of my childhood on the island where lived in St Augustine and Centeno from 1950-1955.Down de islans wid Richard and Brian Shepherd and their family and Mr Cory Davis on the Berwin was a treat.Would I return accompanied with personal armed security, yes.

Sir with all due respect, if the only way to return to trinidad in your opinion is with bodyguards, more of us living here would be dead. If you truly believe Trinidad has much to offer and it really does, (I am a hiker) please dont feel the need to sensationalize the crime issues. These post are what tourist look at and form opinions about this country. Jamaica has more crime than that, but tourist flocking there. Our country could be a paradise, but we must all come together to make it so.

TS, once again an amazing capture of T'dad beauty. Despite the littering the islands look to be in very good shape. Honing those droning skills! Perhaps one of the remedies for the littering is to empower boatmen to refuse return trip to the mainland to those who do not take away their garbage? Make it clear from the start! #MorningSunAfternoonRain

Truly uplifting and beautifully filmed. I am learning so much about my Trini heritage. Thank you again. It’s a great sadness to see the lack of self-respect and low-life mentality of people who can’t even take home a bag of trash. The poorest parts of Cuba I’ve seen have spotlessly clean people and beaches. So proud to see their beautiful kids taught to be clean and walk tall, even if you have little or nothing. Trinis have many things and value nothing - by the look of the trashed beaches. Heartbreaking. A London bus driver was complaining to me that he had just been fined £150 for dropping a cigarette butt on the ground. Guess he won’t be doing it again though 🤷🏽♀️

I was born in TnT and lived there for the first fifteen years of my life - as an American citizen. I am very familiar with DDI - especially Gasparee, Monos and Scotland Bay - back in the days when The Americans still controlled the northwestern peninsula and maintained it in an almost PRISTINE CONDITION. My father worked there as an American so I am very familiar with it from those days. I spent a lot of time there as a child and a young teenager and I have many fond memories of my experiences from those days. I departed those sad and forlorn shores that comprise TnT just about FIFTY YEARS AGO. The last time that I set foot in TnT was in 1986 and I have absolutely no plans or desire to ever return to the place of my birth because the country has - quite literally - gone to HELL IN A HAND-BASKET! The sad reality about TnT is that there is ABSOLUTELY NO CIVIC PRIDE or 'REAL' PATRIOTISM - a Carnival Bamcee Roll is NOT patriotism - in evidence in the vast majority of the people of TnT. While I truly admire and respect what you are attempting to accomplish in your VLOG Videos by bringing a sense of environmental awareness and PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP to the general population, it is at best an uphill and never-ending battle. Between the CRIME, the violence, the RUBBISH and LITTERING and the WIDESPREAD IGNORANCE displayed by the majority of TnT people, it just really saddens, disappoints and disgusts me at what has become of this country that I once loved so much. But on a positive note, I really enjoy and admire your videos. The internet is a wonderful invention to showcase videos just like yours. Like you, I enjoy travelling as well. I have travelled to and lived in many countries around this planet since I was 'Blessed' to leave TnT. I am a retired United States Army Officer and my career took me all over the world. Had I stayed there in TnT, I would probably never have enjoyed the opportunities that have come my way over the decades. It is going to take a VERY LONG TIME - if ever - to change the deeply embedded Third World attitudes and the mindset for failure and mediocracy and 'slackness' of the TnT people as far as pride in their country and civic responsibility are concerned. But I heartily salute your tireless efforts towards that end. Thank you and best of luck. Congratulations on your proposal you your girlfriend as well. She looks like a lovely young Lady indeed.

@@Trini_Surfer There are some really nice and naturally beautiful places to visit and to see, especially along some parts of the country's coastline. But to characterize Trinidad - and Tobago for that matter - as 'truly amazing' is a bit of a STRETCH and an EXAGERRATION in my humble opinion. The widespread ignorance that exists in the population as a whole, the pervasive and widespread nature of crime and violence across the country, the almost complete absence of genuine civic mindedness and meaningful national pride and the general filth of the overall environment are all key detriments to TnT as a country, a people and a half-made and incomplete society. There are many other shortcomings such as failing schools, awful infrastructure including roads, WASA, electricity, hospitals, corrupt government and police service and on and on. Racial animosity between the two dominant race groups and deeply rooted class and wealth envy and jealousy between the so called 'haves and have nots' are also destroying the fabric of TnT as a country and a society as well. I grew up as a White or Caucasian extreme minority in TnT as a child and a teenager in Trinidad. I can't even begin to recount the kinds of racist mistreatment that I experienced at the hands of the majority groups while I was growing up. I would not want to have to relive a single moment of any of that. There is a whole lot of 'POTENTIAL' that exists in TnT. But sadly, I am not by any means or measure sure of, persuaded or convinced that the people of the country are up to the task or capable of EVER realizing and bringing to fruition any of this great and wonderful potential beauty. 😥🥴

Very good video. Pity about the rubbish problem on an paradise like that. That reminds me of when I was in Bali as sadly there was so much rubbish around the shore.

Keep up the good work buddy. I hope people can take heed. We live in such paradise but people are their own demise. For something so simple just take back what you bring. Right now it’s so bad best they don’t even leave footsteps smh. Kudos to u!! God Bless!!

Hi I’m not a triny, but I have been there many times, I love the people but have been very disappointed at the garbage left in beautiful places, I don’t quite understand this as you said this is a piece of paradise. Triny’sPlease have more pride in your beautiful country and keep it beautiful for yourself and all of the visitors! I’m not trying to be critical but what you said in your video is true.

Just to note on the garbage a lot of it is also wash a shore from in land when we litter from ower back yard into drain and when the rain fall everything goes into the sea then wash a shore
@Trini_Surfer3 жыл бұрын
Yes you are absolutely correct. The garbage 🗑 comes from all over the place

Nice initiative, we have to educate the people on our bad littering habits, I was on a road trip yesterday, passing through some beautiful teak trees and it was just rubbish on the ground, that you know peeps just fling out their window, on another note, Love the footage and congrats on the 8k
@Trini_Surfer3 жыл бұрын
I straight up did not know that I hit the 8k so you just brought it to my attention haha 😂 And i know exactly what you mean about the garbage 🗑 on the floor in the forest 🌳 many people in this country are just not up to speed with how to live a proper clean life

We agree with you concerning the garbage, a lot of places we go fishing and have to clean up other people garbage. IDK if they think a garbage truck would pass DDI to pick it up.

Do we even realize how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful country? What a shame to see all that garbage. To the ones hanging the garbage bag on the trees or leaving it on the ground, did you expect the garbage truck to pass and collect it? Our islands are so beautiful, please keep it so. Thanks for all the otherwise beautiful videography.

Thank you so much for all the love and blessings!!! yes we are super fortunate to live in this paradise but definitely people take it for granted and we mistreat our land terribly!
