Thank you so much for this video. Blanchisseuse is where my grandmother grew up and my mother was born. It’s my happy place; the place I go to re-centre myself, take a complete break from every aspect of normality and decompress. I still have family there but even better memories and it has my heart.

Oh your footage of that particular beach (I know it as L’Anse Martin) was giving me flashbacks of so many happy times. My grandmothers house is not far up the road; I’ve travelled the North Coast Road so many times I know it almost by heart. Your video took me off my sofa in London, U.K. and made me feel like I was home. 🌸💕

Hi. A cousin of mine from Trinidad sent me this video. I've never seen or heard of you or your KZbin channel before but this is wonderful. I live in Canada. We have had 3 snow storms in the last few weeks. We had windchill temperatures of -44 C at one point. I just spent an hour plus shoveling my way out of ankle deep snow. One thing I do want to say is how much I appreciate your comments about littering. I was home for the first time, two years ago, just before covid hit, and was so beyond disappointed with how my fellow TNT's were treating the country. We have a beautiful space in the world and we need to take care of it. And people like me who don't live there anymore and aren't able to go home very often really treasure what will always be home. So please...

Hi Alan just a word of caution, if you are going to produce videos and post them you have a responsibility to ensure that you provide accurate information. The beach you refer to as Damiens Bay or D1 is not Damiens Bay. I know most people call it that, but that does not make it right. Damien Bay is a small bay just past Tyrico, it is the bay next to where the Nanan Guest House is, there is a small road that goes down and you will see it on a good map of Trinidad labelled as Damien Bay. The bay you talk about in your video is DAMIER Bay. So called because that entire area was part of what was the DAMIER Estate, a coconut estate. If you look at the WASA facility opposite the entrance to the bay there is or used to be a sign "Damier Rural Intake". The village you drive through that you call Blanchisseuse Village, is not Blanchisseuse, that is the La Fillette village. The yellow town houses before La Fillette, are on point called Chupara Point, which was also part of a coconut estate. The proper name of the beach everyone calls D2 is L'Anse Martin and the walkway was built by Mr. Andrew Hernandez the owner of what was Surf's Country Inn . The little hut you pointed out with the car park was part of that establishment. I know you were interested in the beach but as you pointed out the houses before the beach an important one that you missed, through no fault of your own but because we do not teach our own history, one of the houses you passed was the home of Sir Solomon Hochoy, former Governor General and our first local Governor who lived there for most of his life. How do I know this, I live in the area, I work in television production. P.S. Rusty is also my dog. Cliff Seedansingh
@Trini_Surfer2 жыл бұрын
Rusty is an awesome dog and thank you so much for this incredible information. I may need to sit with you at some point and get this knowledge first hand again so i can spread the proper information. That is really awesome and interesting to know and for sure i was completely unaware

This is true. People tend to call wrong places a lot. Another example would be The Cocos Bay Bridge...the Nariva River Mouth that people always claim is Mayaro. It's not even in the same County...

For those who can't swim can you let us know if the beach grades down or drops of sharply. Thank you for sharing your adventures. God bless

If you are a weak swimmer i would be very careful in the waters here and anywhere on that coastline. Don’t go deeper than knee high water if you cant swim as there are strong currents
