This brought tears to my eyes, living in America since I was very young boy , I tried so hard to stay close to my Roots, My father would faithfully listen to these finals,since he passed away,I have not have the zeal to to watch, this blew me away especially when they played "long time".Thanks for taking time to post this Trinidadians in US please don't lose your ethnicity such a beautiful Culture

I like this aircraft type of arrangement.... It appears the Bass pans and Rhythm are on auto pilot...... The Mid pans set on cruise control.... While the Voicing pans are full throttle....No need to fasten your seat belts ....... Dim the lights in the cabin ...... Ensure your hand luggage is safely secured in the overhead cabin....prepare for take off ...... Dancing permitted between aisles 1 to 43 ....... Estimate time of arrival 9.14 mins .... Safe flight.

All Stars were by far the best-sounding band on the night; tight and precise transitions with evenly toned pans from the Bass to the Cellos with a call and answer from the Tenors to the Celios. Our fans know the truth about the Duvone Conspiracy. This is obviously the second time an outright win and crowd pleaser was relegated to 3 or 4. The first was David Rudders Dus in your Face, Arranged by the late Eddie Quarless. The only time in the history of Panorama a band was asked for an encore.

Duvone Conspiracy lets examine that Duvone really gained attention in 2017 in in fact the bands that were looked at was All Stars And Despers but if you look honestly at the 2017 performance and arrangement by renegades They probably should have won but it was like a race All Stars had the momentum. they were playing the most popular song a song people needed and they had already took off . The judges may have had a mental bias like myself towards All Stars and Despers and its not unfair its just momentum. In 2018 First Band to play Bp Renegades and after that every other band literally had a mountain to climb and if they won't prepared licks In 2019 Duvone's arrangement out of this world nothing like in the history of our pan and I dear say if he arranges at this level all other arrangers either settle, move on or get to that level. I don't think its a conspiracy I thinks its reality. As a musician I am totally impressed with his work you got know what you are doing

There were no lines repeated like there was in Despers over and over. You had to be there to really appreciate the full spectacle that was the story of So Long. Tan Tan and Saga Boy are Trinidad Icons. We first saw them in 1990, created by Peter Minshall and you haven’t seen them in a while because they have been touring the world representing Trinidad culture... They haven’t seen each other in a while, so it’s a reunion, along with the loss of BWIA in 2006 to be replaced by Caribbean Airways. That was part two. Part three is ttt which has now returned to Trinidad airways. These are all part of the Trinidad culture that had gone away and come back home. Unlike Renegades these parades were all conducted to the left side of the band and not in your face, so to speak. The added musical samples enhanced the story of So Long... “Long Time” by Arrow... spoke about the party effect brought to you by All Stars. “Back Home” by Andre Tanker (I went away I leave and ah come back home) speaks of Trinis going away catching their A** and returning to Trinidad because they can’t see their way abroad. All in all, it was a story well told musically and performance wise, without a doubt, it was the first-place performance.

I just watched this video one year later and had the exact thought about needing to be there live! I was there, and this video footage does not capture the visual and performative impact of the entrance of Tan Tan and Saga Boy in this rendition....especially when Tan Tan 'give' Saga Boy a wine! This was my favourite performance of the night.

This was my favorite Finals performance right after Renegades. But Duvone & Renegades burst out of the gates with a winning arrangement and blew everyone one away. Duvone's arrangement was almost perfect. Never needed to make drastic changes. Everyone else was playing for 2nd place. My congrats to the All Stars with a much improved Finals performance.

All congrats to Renegades on another victory but jesus christ i actually heard conversations going on between these instruments in All Stars presentation. Smooth you are really a gifted arranger. These instruments were well tuned, clean clear sound and another performance for the books , well done All Stars . For me its another victory from deep within. All Stars forever.

Shirley Willis All stars is a victim of their own success. They’re always excellent on precision and timing, but outside of curry tambamca and woman on de bass, you could plug in any song they did the last three years and they sound the same; even when they won in 2017. Still the best steel band in the world though.

I still say AllStars came 2nd Place - There's no way Despers was better than AllStars. I had Despers in 6th Place after Invaders, Exodus and Phase II. The best Despers did , I think was 5th Place... Come on Haters ah ready fuh Allyuh .

Renegades by far had the best reharmonisation and their arrangement in its entirety told a full story. Despers arrangement was a musical journey and their tone of pans were very rich! All stars arrangement was great music but there was no story being told further down in the arrangement it sounded as if they were basically playing the first half again. Nevertheless they played the cleanest. All three were fair in my opinion for the reasons mentioned. All stars is in third only because their arrangement in its entirety couldn't stand up to the 2 before especially Renegades.

My heart goes out to the 3 Large Steelbands who were eliminated in a preliminary round, but was that round necessary ? All Hopeless, Fruitless PanTrinbago had to do was start their Semi Finals program 1 hour earlier and all 17 bands would have been accommodated. They probably saved on paying appearance fees, ent ? But then, what did it cost them in Transportation, meals, accommodation etc. just to have a Team of Judges, their accomplices, Security Details etc travelling about Trinidad and Tobago for several nights just to eliminate 3 bands ? .... Oh Ohhh, I just remembered, the Government ( Tax Payers ) is their financer.
