Trinidad Curry Shrimp | Taste of Trini

Curried Shrimp is such a tasty dish that we eat back home. It's also one of our "fast cook" dishes. We usually eat this with Rice and Dhal, Buss up Shut or Paratha and Sada Roti.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 - 2 lbs of shrimp
1 tbsp green seasoning
a few curry leaves or karrapillai leaves
1 tbsp madras curry powder
1/2 tsp turmeric or saffron
1/2 tsp of roasted ground geera or cumin
1/2 tsp of black amchar masala
10 cloves of garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced finely
1 stalk or chive or green onions or scallion, chopped
1 hot pepper, chopped
4-5 shadon beni, bandhanya or culantro leaves, chopped finely
3-4 pimento (Capsicum Chinense) peppers, chopped
salt

At 6:15, "Try not to overcook the shrimp"... shrimp are already overcooked. :-/ Look at the shrimp shape - they start out like a U - uncooked, then turn into a C - cooked, then turn into an O - overcooked.

Easy recipe. Looks yummy. If I may, turmeric and saffron are very different. I am aware that people get confused between saffron and turmeric in Trinidad. Saffron is from a flower and turmeric is a root like ginger. They look different, they are used in different ways and the price of saffron is quite high compared to turmeric.
