There is so much about this movie, particularly this scene, that you don't catch until you've watched it dozens of times. This is the mark of a great movie. For example, when Wild Card Hendricks heads for the door, pay attention to the three guys to the right of the doorway - the barkeep, the busboy, and a drunk. The two others run when Hendricks turns to fire and has his weapon shot out of his hand, but the drunk says what the Hell and keeps drinking. Classic movie.

He didn't know his cards nor his opponents and thus didn't play 2) He asked to see what cards the other guy had for a reason 3) He stacked the deck during his shuffle routine and even checked to see if it was correct 4) He took the cut half and put it back on top without anyone noticing 5) He gave everyone the exact cards they wanted and made sure they would stay in for maximum damage 6) He was called a cheat and basically said to the other cheater "of course I did numbskulls" 7) He did all of the above... and never looked at a single card that was in his hand untill the final reveal and then didn't reveal the last card at that. Shows he was in total control of his surroundings at all times without saying a word, brilliant filmography.
