Hmmmmm. I was thinking of buying this game and after seeing a few reviews including this one.... I think I will. I'm a big fan of the Disgaea series (Another NIS title) so a lot of the things he called low points in this review I either don't mind or in fact enjoy. For example I like grinding. It can eventually get old so I don't like when a game forces too much grinding to progress through the main story line but I don't mind grinding to get all the game has to offer.

@silverwyrm66 Actually, Rizelea's campaign has Gust characters--Pamela & Violet, both of whom are from Atelier Viorate: Alchemist of Gramnad 2. Kanata has the NIS characters; Etna, Flonne, and Prinny, all of whom were in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Although seeing as Pamela is in charge of the Inn, you see her in both storylines.

I've been playing Trinity Universe for a couple weeks now. I'm enjoying it very much. The story scenes play out like they do in Disgaea, which is just fine. I like the freedom to explore dungeons, whenever you want. I'm up to chapter 8 in Rizelea's story.

@silverwyrm66 But seeing as Pamela makes an appearance in both storylines, we decided to divide the characters into NIS and Gust categories--after all, the game does it. Demon Dog King = NIS, Valkyrie = Gust. And as we said, the plots intersect at several points. In the end, it's all one game.

@Wheatheredtome IF you mean Etna (The Red haired demon lord with a flat chest and a skmpy outfit...) She's in her 1400s. AKA, she's way older then a pre-teen and she's also a demon, not human. Part of her humor is the fact that is flat and looks young. When anyone points this out to her she becomes upset and thrashes them. Also Flonne (The blonde fallen angel is in her 1500s.

Etna is a character from the Disgaea franchise... and one of the best might I add.

I like the game so far. I am still stuck on chapter 7 at Astral Dragon. But the game is indeed fun. Also, the side for Kanata so far is first, Tsubaki, then Etna and Prinny, then Pamela, and so far Mizuki(Which people forget about). You also, can use Riz and Lucius at Astral Dragon.

They are not from a show. They are from the Atelier game series. Having never played any of them before I can't tell you any more than that.

Remember in FF4, Tellah I think his name was. He called Edward a spoony bard cause he didn't want him going out with his daughter. Thought he was some vigilante trying to leave with her. Very funny moment.

I have confused thoughts of this game, at first I thought it was going to be a pretty good game but now after I played it i'm just not sure how I feel about it anymore. I pre-Ordered it off of the nis shop and when I got the game I played it for about a week then stopped playing since :/ but im thinking about picking it up again and give it another go.

I was a very fair review in my opinion. I hate this kind of story telling "visual nobel-like" but I will give it a try. I need a good Ol'JRPG sience they are disappearing... Man, I miss my Radiata Stories, Persona 4 and my other PS2 JRPGs!

i was about to buy this the other day but thought i better wait to read about it first because nis/gust/idea factory games are never normal and usually complex for hardcore ppls i think. i bought cross edge and disgaia 3 but have barely played them yet.

First, try Demons Souls and Dark Souls for gritty-ness from Japan, along with Soul Sacrifice for the PS Vita. Second, Japan is good at this stuff, that's why.

I don't get how one can accept the graphics of this game... It just so happens the first footage I found was of the dungeon crawling and fighting. The animation is absolutely horrid. Simply unacceptable by any standards. But then I saw the dialogue graphics, which look really cool. You gotta appreciate 3D graphics that actually look good. But anything that's good about that is completely erased by the horror that is the gameplay. And according to this, even that is mediocre... I'm recently into Disgaea, I'd like to like this game. But I can't see how anyone could be okay with that animation.
