That has to be a first for me watching a team of horses pulling a new style V rake. I guess just a battery to run the hydraulic pump. Great to see horses out there getting some exercise to keep them fit, I can bet they enjoy it too. Thanks for video.

I love all of y'all's videos but I must say the horses are my favorite. It's just something about seeing well trained horses doing what they were trained to do. Thanks for sharing that! Blessings to you and your family!

Nice work was that rake modified to spread the hay out. Good idea using a 12 volt hydraulic pump on the hay rake for windrows . Have a great day.

How did you lift the rake up without a motor on it or did I miss something? It looked like it was raised hydraulically pulled behind the horses. Or was the PTO plugged in behind the tail😂

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I a lot of questions about dairy farming. So if your dad is making hay for horses and beef cattle and you keep your heifers at his farm, does that mean you have to take feed over there every day or do you store what you need to feed them at his farm? If you have to take it there every day then that can't be easy in winter especially with snow and ice.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
The heifers are only there for the summer because they have a lot of extra pasture, otherwise I keep them at home.

Is that a special rake or could all bar rakes do both? We had bar rakes but I never knew they could do both.

Some of those old ones were made that way. Some were just rakes.

Leonard are you making hay for your horses or for your cattle and Alan's heifers? I mean, don't horses eat a different type of hay than cows?
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
This is for his horses and beef cows. With the ground being so wet for so long, the hay got old, but it's fine for his horses and cows.
@richardmcpherso57596 ай бұрын
That rake is too heavy for those horses. What are you guys torture them for?
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
These horses are extremely well cared for. That rake is not too heavy for them. Apparently you didn't notice them trying to trot while pulling it and Leonard slowed them down so they don't get too tired out. Your ignorance about working horses is very apparent.
