I always thought RCF used to rate their products in RMS and not peak..good in depth review btw
@trinityprosound9 жыл бұрын
+jervis jagroop they are most of the time doing both, however with some of the systems aimed more at the MI end. they are rating in peak as to be apples to apples with others such as QSC and other MI type equipment, as their RMS ratings are lower, people have taken they were not as much power, but we know that is all in the marketing of the product and people don't understand peak , peak to peak and RMS values, they just see WATTS

You glossed over that extracting handle assembly. If it's anything like airport luggage handles, it would be apt to breaking (I would hope not). I was also told that with heavy bass hits, one can hear the handle vibrating on the rear side. Is this true?
@trinityprosound9 жыл бұрын
+DJ GaFFLe The EVOX 12 does not have the cheap luggage handles...the one in this is fairly decent construction and locks down with spring pins

I'm looking for a good portable array... I was also looking at the Turbosound IP3000. Very nice video!
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
thanks for watching the videos ! So....we have an IP3000 as a demo, just sold the ES1203 demo and have had the EVOX 12 units as well. Also the FBT CS1000 in our rental ... out of all of them my favorite for an all in one type system is the ES1203 from db Tech followed by the RCF EVOX 12. Beyond that you are looking at separate boxes like the RCF NXL24 or the db Tech IG4T or FBT CLA406 units with separate subs. The db Tech unit runs more than the IP3000 but kills it and the ES1203 comes with all the bags and covers, no one else does that. The bass out of the ES1203 is just short of amazing. if you could swing 2 of them for events you could do 300+ peeps with live bands...DJ wise maybe a bit more .... with that said though the low frequency units are not true "subwoofers" so if you really need some pounding lows below 60hz, only a dedicated sub is going to get that for you....

Looks good. I play solo acoustic and sing. Would I need a monitor with this or could I play in front of it?
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can, just use a good hyper cardioid mic like a Beta 58 or OM 5, these types of systems are fairly forgiving in the feedback arena and don't excite as easily as a traditional HF type driver and higher cross over point system.

I want to change my gear but my only concern is the bass with this RCF evox 12... Im thinking of getting 6 of those for large events but like I said the bass is my concern if it would sound loud
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
Depending how they are deployed they may not all play together very well, comb filtering, etc. The NXL24s and SUB8004 would really do you an amazing sound. The EVOX 12 LF box is crossed over higher than most subs, as it is a bass box and not a dedicated subwoofer. Look at the NXL24 or even the NXL44's
@proudinspector8 жыл бұрын
+trinityprosound ok I will check Thank you So I guess you dont recomend the RCF evox 12 for large events
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
Small to mid sized, 200 -300 peeps...larger than that a different system. More of them will cause audio issues, unless you are running them as delays in a large event, but that takes an entire different level of mixer and audio processing

is evox 12 good enough for a church setup, will the twitters not hit the face of the people sitting in the front? the church is a 250 people church, pretty small in depth from stage to the last chair about 25 feet, but its spread out about 75 feet. Would you recommend a evox 12, qsc12.2 or ev50?
@trinityprosound4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we used db tech ES503 and EVOX 8s for a church of 200 and ran the entire band thru them ... the wide dispersion of the evox 12 will amaze you, don't waste your money on the QSC OR EV speakers.

Evolve 50 is just OK... we are EV dealers and we chose not to do a video as the RCF design and sound , frankly was superior to the EV system. I don't like the manner in which the EV transports, just too large to carry around with the large speaker bag

Thank you for all your good and informative videos. The one thing I would like to know is, How does it compare to a pair of: RCF Art 712-A MK IV and Sub 705-AS II ..? I'm a mobile DJ and am a bit reluctant to this type of "all in one" speaker. As they lack Scalability. When dealing with sound, Scalability, is the key to success. Small, Medium, Large Rooms, Tents, Outdoors etc. Requires a sound system that can be customized to the location. This type of speaker is missing this option, for an extension or reduction. Therefore, I'm a little reluctant, that's just my two cents. (And please keep in mind, the price. Not everyone can afford to buy several different systems and therefore will have to settle for one.) :)
@trinityprosound7 жыл бұрын
The EVOX12 is a 2 way speaker system with the 15" driver and top box crossed over at 180hz, which is higher than a typical subwoofer/top box arrangement. So you are going to get more upper low end to the bottom LF driver than a dedicated sub. The EVOX 12 is a great all around system, but if you are wanting the low end for dance, etc. to move your audience, we always recommend dedicated subs. THE ART712 or the HD12 would be great matches to the 705ASII. If you want expandability for doing various sizes of events, look into the db Tech Ingenia speakers, we just did a video on them and getting ready to do a video on the IG2T, they can be stacked without serious compromise to audio quality, comb filtering, etc. Have rec'd feed back from some users in the comments section as well, you can always add more 705ASII subs as needed . If you can swing it , go with an 18" sub, you will be much happier in the end. Buy once , cry once is my motto. :-)

I am very grateful for your response, I do not get the opportunity to ask real professionals, like you, questions that I find relevant. trinityprosound, Have you tried or compared this RCF Evox 12 System vs the Bose F1 system? I currently have the Evox 8, which can handle an event for 200 people... When I bought the Evox 8 about 3 months ago, I took one set to Guitar Center and compared vs the F1 system. The F1 system won that battle but not by far. I need to get a system to handle bigger events, but I'm undecided between the F1 system and the Evox 12 system...
@trinityprosound7 жыл бұрын
The EVOX 12 will certainly outdo the Bose system. But they are not the same type of technologies or uses. Hard to compare, as the EVOX is not like the Bose system, made more for musos than DJ, etc. the EVOX 12 is more focused in the vertical for coverage. It is like a 2 way speaker that has separate top section and LF section, is the way to look at the EVOX series. Not a true subwoofer at all, but LF driver that sits on floor.
@ektorrrios82497 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input!!! I have an other question for you, if you dont mind. Like I mention before, I currently own 2 of the EVOX 8. If I get 2 EVOX 12. Do you think I can cover 300-400 people events, if I combine the EVOX 8 and the EVOX 12...? (2 sets each)
@trinityprosound7 жыл бұрын
You would have to put the EVOX 8 as delays in the event area to cover farther back and you will need a speaker management unit or digital mixer like an X32 or something similar to control the delay, approx 1millisecond for each foot from the other set is what the fill or delay speakers should be set at . putting them all at the front you will over drive the EVOX 8 and most likely toast them. as delays you can get plenty of volume around the event space.
@NickMcC8 жыл бұрын
Solid review - especially in combination with the field test. Thanks for your hard work on this! How do you think this would do in a smaller (350 seat) reverberant concert hall?
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
I think they would be fine, the horizontal is very wide , but you have more control of the vertical with the EVOX boxes...of course any reverberant space is going to be a challenge, but with the focused forward/vertical, you are going to get more sound where you need it and most likely keep volumes lower to not excite the room to have massive reflections off surfaces, etc. Hope that helps.

Great Video. Very informative. I'm currently using two JBL SRX 815tops with a SRX 818 Sub for my rock band. Two guitars, Bass and kick drum along with vocals through this system at small to medium venues. Looking for something more portable. How will the two Evox 12's stack up?
@trinityprosound5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching...the EVOX 12 is a great 2 way system, BUT, the LF box on the floor is a quasi sub, not a true subwoofer. With that said it is crossed at 160hz , higher than a traditional subwoofer. A pair of the EVOX12s could do live for 300 peeps with no problems, but just want to alert you to the fact that the low end won't be what a dedicated subwoofer crossed at 90Hz will do.

I’m an Evox 8 owner, and I love them, but I have to upsize my rig for a nightclub gig I do regularly. The price of 2 evox 12’s in Australia is nearly $9000 AUD, which is a lot. I could buy 2 RCF equivalent 705 15 inch subs, and 2 ART 712’s or HD12’s for under $7000. How would you compare performance to other RCF PAs, and how do you compare the 2 systems. Are the evox 12’s worth the extra $2000 AUD it would cost me?
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
They are really quite different systems and audio approaches to doing events. The EVOX is a fast setup, sleek column sysetm with plenty of SPL that optimizes the small foot print of the system and aesthetics for events. The EVOX is a LF box and MID / HF box exhibiting a cross over point around 160hz where as a subwoofer / top speaker will be crossed at 90-120 subwoofer / processor dependent. The Evox 12 is a more smooth sounding system and has fantastic horizontal coverage vs. traditional 2 way speaker boxes. If you don't need the look of the EVOX 12 and ease for setup, teardown, etc. The 705 wit ha HD12 would be my choice, the HD12 has a bit better low end IMO, and I like the full grille vs. the not so full grille of the ART boxes. If you can swing the HD32 and do the buy once cry once scenario and bite the bullet for the HD32, you will be amazed at the smooth sound of that speaker and just over all sonic clarity of that system coupled with the 705 sub.

I play in an acoustic duo (acoustic guitar and female vocals) as well as in a 4-5 piece function band (vocals, elec. guitar, keys, bass and drums). Would this product be overkill for the duo setting performing to anywhere between 50 - 250 people? Would it work well with kick drum and bass going through it? Is it possible to use the sub with two traditional 12" tops? Or would we not need traditional speakers? Thanks in advance for any advice and information.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
If you used just one , no would be great, but 2 would be better , one each side, it would be too much for 50, really good for 250...it is going to be decent with kick and bass, the low frequency box is not a 'subwoofer' but an extended low frequency driver. the cross over point is higher in these series than a traditional speaker and subwoofer. you MUST use thee top speaker with it , that is what it is tuned for. if you want to use other tops the 715 subwoofer or 905 subwoofer...

How does this compare to the Turbosound IP2000 system?

Can you do a video demo of the evox 5 and 8 side to side. And why they are the same price
@trinityprosound5 жыл бұрын
Unless you are playing music back at low levels or performing in a Starbucks, don't consider the EVOX5 , for DJ work and more you have to had a larger system and even for DJ work the EVOX8 is limited on the low end. Look at the EVOX 12 or better for that kind of work. We did demo an EVOX 5 and was OK, great box for a singer songwriter or acoustic act or for talking head corporate work.
@njdenney695 жыл бұрын
Personally I think that the Evox 12 is a bit of a non starter. The whole point of the Evox systems is their portability. Both the Evox 5 and 8 tops fit inside the sub woofer. The 12's don't meaning far more bulk and cost of cases to protect them. I used a pair of the Evox 8 for 3 years and think that are an absolutely outstanding speaker (especially for DJ work). So much so that I went out with a Single Evox 8 for many gigs in smaller venues. I honestly wouldn't touch the Evox 12 with a bargepole. They don't sound as good as the 8's and the db ES1203 simply outperforms the Evox 12 in EVERY department with ease.

Hi, great video. I have an acoustic duo (2 vocals, acoustic guitar and some clean electric and keyboard, though we only use the piano sound). I'm looking for something portable with good sound that can fill a room evenly. I've been looking at the bose l1 mk2 but these RCF got me quite intrigued...we use 2 DB Opera 405 but they are very directional, so wanna look for something with better horizontal coverage. We play every night at Hotels so, lounges, terraces, restaurants, etc...do you think one of these could work? Even maybe the evox 8?I'm trying to get less stuff to set up as well... :) Thanks in advance.
@trinityprosound7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching ! To answer, yes. A EVOX 12 has quite a bit of output and for 100 peeps or so will work fantastic. Even the EVOX 8 would do the job, but may have to push it to get full coverage unless you had 2. They can be used similar to the L1 but i would not place them behind , as vocals will most certainly feedback into the system. Using a single EVOX 8 or 12 can be done, and gives great horizontal coverage, but would give the audible illusion of all the sound coming from one side , where ever the unit is placed. I would look at 2 of the EVOX 8's , you would be amazed of the output of coverage of a pair of those.

@trinityprosound7 жыл бұрын
Yes the NXL24 and a 8004 sound output is frankly amazing...the EVOX 12 could not keep up with that combo. The EVOX 12 does a good job, but the NXL combined with the 8004 will really impress you and make you smile everytime you use them. yes more money, but much more output and punch

you can go from sub cross over to NXL24 or if your mixing board allows , send over on a sub group and processed to pass only from 90hz up to NXL24's and keep low end content to subs only. that is what the crossover out of the 8004 does

Hi, do you think that a pair of Evox 12 would outperform a pair of Art-745 (without a separate sub) in terms of output and/or low end in a indoor venue or small outdoor space? They'd be used mostly for rock, jazz, world music and the occasional wedding DJ. Thanks.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
Yes they would for low end response. Top end with the 745, better vocal clarity due to LARGE HF driver on the 745, they do sound amazing. The EVOX 12 are a great system, however the LF is not a true subwoofer and is crossed over around 160hz so not going to get the thump of a true sub, but it does very well. You could always add a sub to the EVOX12's

trinityprosound thank you, I already own 4x 745's and 4x sub-8004's, I am looking for a all-in-one system for the gigs where two 745's are not enough (low end-wise), two tops and two subs are overkill and two tops and one 8004 would add sub placement and coverage issues. Extended low end wouldn't be the priority for most of the gigs where I'd use the Evox, but a little more bass compared to two 745's would be good (also thanks to the visual impact of two sub-tops systems compared to two speakers on sticks - sad but true)

The EVOX 12 won't have that kind of power...could do 200-300 with a pair, but again ,the 15" is not a subwoofer. It is a LF driver with some extended range for it..so you can't run low end through it like you would a dedicated subwoofer. It does a great job , but not like a 2 way system you are currently using. @trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
Yes you sure can, the 905 or 705 will pair up nicely and they look almost like the LF driver of the EVOX 12. You can use the built in cross over of the sub and really get the EVOX 12's to crank it out and set the cross over at 90hz. Will be amazing. As with all these types of systems, the LF driver is trying to do both LF and SUB work and something has to go somewhere as the unit is crossed over in the at 180hz ....

Juan Ramos ..Now look what youve done, you complicated everything. You should have just kept the QSC system, maybe just upgraded the K12's for the new K12.2's.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
The K12.2 is pooh. Just like its predecessor , it is a marginal speaker that is over hyped (HD12 from RCF kills them K12 and 12.2). There is better bang for the buck out there than QSC. The EVOX 12 system does a fantastic job, but like we previously stated the 15" is a LF driver not a dedicated subwoofer. Added a SUB and sending the xover out to the EVOX12 will allow them to be driven a bit harder and let the LF duty be done by the subwoofer. I wish that these systems could do the low end of a dedicated sub, but to get the upper low end from them they have to be crossed over about 180-200hz, which does not help in the low end dept. We had QSC and sold it all to update to all RCF for our rentals.

@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
+Clottey Partick The best for those are on top of sub, with sub turned on end so speaker bottom of S215 is around 4 feet off ground or put on stage. if you have 2 per side you will need to splay them about 45 degrees apart from each other due to horn patterns. Get them up in the air and off the floor and ensure the bottom of the bot is around 48" off the floor and the horn is over the tops of heads for best audio penetration into your spaces or events.

Good day am what type po AVR you can sugest to me for my Evox 12 most of my venue for my client the voltage is fluctuating. What ampere and wattage for AVR should i buy for my two Evox. The result of low voltage my Evox reach clipping early.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
Power fluctuating is going to be hard, as the lower the power the more current the amp is drawing , thus early limiting. you need 12GA cable for longer runs as a minimum to support the 700W amp in the EVOX12. If you are running off 220V should not be an issue for you, but fluctuating power will cause early failure of the amp for sure...

I would run flat. Boost will cause them to limit early on the low end...Boost is ok for lower volume levels

Hello i have a pair of RCF evox 12 can i handle 300 people indoor for worship with band? And im using a Yamaha MG12XU do i need to purchase additional processor what do i need to enhance the quality of sound. Thanks in advance.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
Yes i believe a pair of those can no issues. We have done about 130 indoors with a pair of EVOX 8's and pushed could have easily done 200 or a bit more in that space, so yes, key would be they are not too far from the system, as around 75 feet the low end is going to start to diminish...

thanks im using a yamaha mg12xu with build in effex do i need to add EQ Limiter Or any processor for my evox 12. Thanks.

You just need to ensure you don't keep hitting the limiters on the speakers and run them at the "0" db setting which is at the "small triangle" on the back , that way you can drive with sufficient signal from your mixer so that they will not limit early. And ensure your power cords are sufficient gauge to feed the distance from the wall receptacles so the amp will not be started for power to produce output.

ill keep all that in mind thanks for help and more power

thank you for answering my question. now i know what should i do if i buy it. i will buy equalizer, compressor limiter, mixer at the same time dbx feedback suppressor. :) thanks again. more power to your channel. greetings again from Philippines.

The EVOX does have limiting built in to the amp. But a DBX unit would add features that if you are running an analog mixer, would assist with keeping things under control. Thanks for watching the channel and the videos. Much appreciated for sure !

Evox 12 One amazing PA. I’m all so using a pair of rcf 905 and a pair of rcf 725 but for smaller venue I found the 905 and 725 too powerful. Ok I could have just used the 725 tops for smaller venue, no sorry that did not work for me to keep up with the times today you need Bass and for that you need very good subs. Then out came the Evox 12 Wow great all round pa great for small to medium size venue. The Evox 12 Just as powerful as the 725 but the Evox 12 got an all-round better sound. So now I use the Evox 12 for smaller to medium size venues and for larger venue I use 905 and 725. My only gripe I’ve got with the Evox 12 is the subwoofer too heavy I wish they used a neo woofer to make it lighter. I sometimes get ask to do very large venue then I can really get to play, then I use four 905 two 725 and a pair of Evox 12. Long live RCF made in Italy. (PLEASE)

Hey what's the difference between flat and boost mode?
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
like loundness on a vintage stereo receiver
@exitmelendrez97086 жыл бұрын
flat means normal perforamance of the evox low chance of clipping and low chance of dameging your unit, boost it gives extra power for your unit but i can reach the clipping so early i sugest dont use boost
@1ittleelvis6 жыл бұрын
flat is for everyday normal uses. boost only for low volume it cut out some of the bass for low volume. I know it can be confusing for the best sound keep it set on the flat mode

Can you tel me i have tt 25aii is this a good to?
@trinityprosound5 жыл бұрын
The TT25 boxes are awesome , may need a sub to get that really full sound and low end from a system. but the TT boxes are the best from RCF

Nyc pro audio star. They didnt even tell me anything. They just told me to pop the grill out and hammer it out. Won't that void the waranty?
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
I would tell them to swap it out. That is unacceptable, we don't do that to our customers

An event came in its a gradball its 200 to 250 people close venue and more or.party music less bands but they have program can my pair of evox 12 can handle that party 7pm to 12am need feedback. its a close venue.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
Yes EVOX 12 should be able to do that. Just watch the limiter lights on the system..

Do you have customers using the EVOX 12 as a club PA with live bands? Would love to know how it has performed.
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
We have sold pairs of EVOX 12's for that , yes and for gigs up to about 300 they will work very well. Just know that the LF box that sits on the ground is doing double duty as a LF driver and kind of a subwoofer to. If you need more low end for bass and kick a separate sub would be recommend as the EVOX is crossed over at 180hz so a lot of lower content will be in that speaker up to that cross over point...
