Triode or Ultralinear?

Gotta love stereolab! I love that you have kept those three amps and continued to swap them out. They seem like three excellent choices. I love the idea of the switch in the amp. Ultra linear if you want to boogie and triode if you want it to sound relaxed and maybe a bit more lifelike.

Triode is a warmer, full bodied, nicer sound... I feel your sadness regarding the Yamaha A-S amp. As you know I had the A-S3000 and really loved it until a buddy brought over a Prima Luna tube amp. Within three seconds I knew I had to switch to tubes. The Prima Luna amp switch between UL and triode with a remote control so you are able to remain sitting in the sweet spot. Ultimately I settled on a triode only amp because of the sonics and power of 150 watts per channel.

Cool insight. I love tubes as much as I love mophsets solid states amps. Class A or AB are fine to me. I still can’t stand Class D amps.

Class D is to Audio as Hybrid is to Auto's. I'm in in yet. Cheers.

Do you still prefer the Yamaha to the Luxman? Do you find any of those three amps does a better job of sounding full at low volumes?

Did you watch the video? He said that the Rogue is his best sounding amplifier, even moreso than the Yamaha AS1100 and Luxman.
