Why is it required to wire up such that both A coil and B coil energizes in the Pre Close supervision? Can we just wire the positive directly to B coil's start point for pre close supervision and have the same functionality? Is there any other advantage if we wire up as in the drawing shown in your video?

It will depend upon the kind of relay we use. Earlier this of tcs relay used extensively and this is the most basic one . But now a days in ABB make tcs relay only one coil energies for pre close supervision and similarly one coil energies for post close supervision. Also 86 relay operated in pre close supervision has no impact on trip coil in the ABB TCS relay.
