Hi Johannes Your best friend will be the Wikicamps app. It is 100% an invaluable asset for up to date information on camps and attractions. Filter for 4 or 5 star spots to filter out the rubbish and you can't go wrong. Cheers Andrew & Lisa

Hi Joe Welcome to the Channel. Glad you like the vids and thanks for the comment. The Drone adds a great alternate perspective to things and is fun to fly, only crashed it twice and almost lost it over the water at ningaloo 😲 but it still survives thankfully.

Enjoying your videos and I am looking forward to seeing all these place when my wife and I go in 2023 Just one question if you can help how is the single axle going on the corrugated roads I am looking at dual axles but unsure
@TerraRoundOz
@TerraRoundOz 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Guys, glad you like the vids. Regarding the single axel, we wanted to keep the van as small as possible so single axel was the only option for the 16 foot van. We have not had any problems with it at all. We have been very careful with weights to make sure we are not overloaded and the car was set up, suspension wise, to make sure the van and car are nice and level. It tows like a dream at around 96km/h. The one thing I would highly recommend is getting a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). We had all four van tyre valves fail (2 spares) in the first 5000km, must have been a dodgy set of valves as there have been no issues on the replacements since. When you are on the dirt roads you would have no idea you have a flat and would probably drive until the tyre completely fails. With the TPMS you get an alarm as soon as the pressure starts to drop so can pull over and change the wheel before any damage is done. The systems not cheep but at around the price of one tyre and rim it's well worth the investment. Hopefully in 2023 we will be well clear of Covid and you get to enjoy WA as much as we did. Safe Travels Cheers Andrew

Great video, love the colours and great you stay at free camps. One suggestion when you are talking can you not having music playing as it was hard to hear what you are saying. Otherwise awesome.

Hi Guys Thanks for the feedback, its a juggle with the voice V music volume somtimes and often after final production the volumes very from the draft stage. But anyway appreciate the feedback and ill keep an eye on it. Cheers Andrew

Hi any chance of providing some details of both your tow vehicle and van? We are looking at cars and vans and like your setup.

Hi Alan The van in a 16 foot Nova Terra Sportz it is a full off road van and it has been great. We have done 21,000km in it and we estimate around 6,500 of that on dirt roads including the Gibb River road. Some little issues, however all the travellers we meet have the same stories of some small issues with their van so we are not alone there. Car is a 2017 VX 200 series Landcruiser. I have made quite a few mods to it. Second battery system, draws in the back, fridge drop down slide, 4015kg GVM upgrade from ARB, and a Richards torque converter lockup kit and transmission remapping, being the main ones. Love the rig and it has been wonderful and got us into and out of some tricky spots with the van in tow.

@@TerraRoundOz Thanks for the information, very helpful, we are looking at a new VX 200 series. One more question, re your GVM upgrade what lift height did you end up with front and back and how do you find the ride without the van on city driving?
@TerraRoundOz
@TerraRoundOz 3 жыл бұрын
@@alanstuart621 I have ended up with around 50mm front and back with the lift but this is with 540kg of added bits including everything i load into the 200 when we travel. Currently i am back in the city and driving from Joondalup to freo for work. I have probably shed 150kg of gear and the ride is fine no problem at all. I am running the tyres at 35psi normally 42 when loaded up, which will be helping the ride.

@@TerraRoundOz Hi Andrew, was the GVM upgrade done after purchase? Where did you get your fridge slide from? Your vids are great, your narration is on the same volume level as your very soothing intro and background music, not like others who have terrible music at 4 x the volume they speak at! You deserve many more followers. Best wishes Gary/ Perth.
