@@ZakieMaizaAdventure sorry but seriously speaking, if you really love fishing for the sport of it, you would not succumb to all this electric reel business at all. Depth and current like this is completely doable with good manual reels and rods and reliable terminal tackle. We are all doing it. We may work harder but it is definitely more rewarding and satisfying doing it this way. The feel of the bite, setting the hook and fighting the fish by yourself is what it’s all about. Also the shrill, loud high pitched jarring noise these electric reels make just destroys the peaceful atmosphere when on a boat at sea which is another main reason why I get out to offshore fishing, for the peace and quiet and to get far away from the nagging wife. The sound of the ocean waves and my reels screaming are the only noise I want to hear, not to feel like I am standing right in the middle of a car workshop or construction site. Personally I feel that going the electric route is a definite cop out on being a true sport fisherman. It is all about bling and showing off and keeping up with the Joneses. Work a little harder and the reward is so much more satisfying, plus at least you know that you have put some skill, effort and dedication into the whole experience. Just my humble opinion.
