HPN is a blessing and a curse. There is no easier airport in the Tri-state region to use, from rolling up on the curb to boarding the flight (even easier the other way around upon arrival!). However, when there are delays, or even several flights leaving at the same time, it's a miserable room to spend some time in. There is only a small, very overpriced shop, and seats are at a premium. It's not uncommon to see lines out of the restroom entrances. My strategy is to try and wait landside as long as I dare before going through security, which is rarely more than 10-15 minutes in fairness.

This is great! Love seeing the 717's at Westchester. The takeoff sure does show how perfectly the 717's fit into HPN. It was also great talking about this to yesterday :)

Thank you, Wesley! Agreed, the 717 is a perfect aircraft for our market. Loved meeting you last week! Hope to see you again soon!

@@TriStateAviationny I have to say this is a very top-notch video HPN is my number three Hometown airport when flying to Orlando Florida may I please ask what was your filming equipment?

These B717s have flown ATL-HPN a lot in their lives, AirTran used to use them on the same route before they flipped to Delta

So yea. Our airport here in JAX functions more like White Plains. A regional airport. At least I’m 2 hours away from Orlando.
@TriStateAviationny5 жыл бұрын
I think a better comparison would be JAX to SAV, not HPN. White Plains only has six gates, where Savannah has 15, and I think you guys have even more than that. Savannah also has a wider variety of destinations that HPN, and so does Jacksonville.
@pinchy085 жыл бұрын
Jacksonville does have a lot of gates. And a lot of destinations. But these are still considered Regional airports. Regional airports don’t have much international routes. We had a route to Toronto Canada. But it’s discontinued now. We also had Silver Airways from JAX to Tampa and Marsh Harbor in the Bahamas. But Silver also discontinued flights in JAX. However there building a new concourse of gates. I hope that means more airlines. And more destinations outside the United States. Like Canada, the Bahamas, and Mexico.

I think you meant Br715 for the 717

As for JetBlue operations out of JAX, there’s not many destinations assigned for them. Destinations on JetBlue from JAX include JFK, Boston, Ft. Lauderdale, and Washington DCA. Most of which are flown on the E190. The only route JetBlue uses the A320 is JFK. I think it’s crazy that JetBlue can fly us to Boston on the small E190. The reason why is because the airspace between JAX and Boston are not very busy.
@TriStateAviationny5 жыл бұрын
That's exactly right. The less the demand, the smaller the aircraft they need. Once jetBlue gets rid of the E190, I would assume the A220 would take over that route, unless they decide to upgrade you guys to the A320.
@pinchy085 жыл бұрын
I think once JetBlue retires the E190 it will be A220 all the way. I’ve never flown an E190 or any Embraer E jet series. I gotta think Fast before JetBlue retires the E190s all the way.

Also JetBlue is about to discontinue service from JAX to DCA.

Very nice trip report. Delta Airlines all the way. Any more soon? Reason why I said that is because I think your videos are cool. No matter what airline you fly. I’m into JetBlue and Delta. Being a resident of Jacksonville FL I’m on the Georgia boarder. And Atlanta is an 8 hour drive from me. But Delta still offers short flight to Atlanta from JAX. Planes we fly most commonly are 757-200. During other times of days they also use MD-88s, 737-800s, and 737-900ERs.
@TriStateAviationny5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, there's a whole lineup of trip reports coming soon. They really fly a 757 between Jacksonville and Atlanta? I would've thought the biggest they'd use is a 737!
@TriStateAviationny5 жыл бұрын
@Logan Donnelly That stinks. I assume you guys missed that connection due to weather issues in Atlanta? I'm not surprised about the gap in the time since there are only three flights a day from Atlanta to Brunswick.

Are the 737-700's on Delta Airlines safe?
@Joedoe7795 жыл бұрын
I have only flown a 737-700 once from ATL-SAV other times it has been a MD-88
@TriStateAviationny5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the 737-700 into SAV was a limited time thing. It's mostly MD-88s and, during the winter season, 717s.
@RoadCone4112 ай бұрын
5 years on from this video (2024) and the MD-88s are long gone, sadly. ATL-SAV today is a mix of B737s, all -900s!, and one rotation on a B757-200! Of course, I happen to be checking during peak summer season. I imagine this route drops frequencies and maybe more use of the smaller B737-700 and -800 in winter.
