✈ Trip report | Virgin Atlantic A330 | VS26 Beating jet Lag ? | New York - London Heathrow ✈

Join me for another trip back from the USA, this time something a bit different, my first time flying from the USA to London during the day. I can never sleep on the overnight flights that typically fly from New York into London, so I thought I would give this a try.
Day time flights from the USA are rather rare, however there is a growing number of these flights, BA, Jetblue and American airlines also have morning departures from JFK and of course this Virgin Atlantic flight.
The day started very early with a 4am alarm for me to make it in time to the airport for the 8am departure. New York JFK airport, was extremely busy with security taking almost 1 hour.
Today i will be flying in Premium economy, this offers a bigger seat along with upgraded food. My only issue, was with the IFE screens, they are so dim, and need to be replaced.
The flight itself was smooth although it was cloudy for 99% of the Atlantic crossing, so not much too see however, after take off we were served Breakfast, there were also snacks & drinks available in the Galley, prior to landing we were also served Dinner, the food was very nice on the flight, definitely better than some airlines business class offering.
I managed to get work done on the flight rather than stressing about trying to get some sleep which was nice, I think the top tip for this flight is to try and be tired so you can sleep when your home, the next day after my flight `I felt like I had no jet lag at all I woke up at normal time and got on with my day without feeling really tired like i would on the usual night flights.I would definitely like to see more day time flights over the Atlantic.

There definitely needs to be more eastbound daytime transatlantic flights. I know you “lose” a day by arriving in the evening, but I’d rather that than trying to stay awake for the rest of the day after landing at say 5am to 7am.

Couldn’t agree more, it’s good to see that there are a few more popping up, I always find I loose a day anyway because I’m so tired the next day, I can’t do anything anyway, at least this way the next day I can wake up refresh and go back to work.
