You get so much better views from the traditional lines than from Shinkansen. Same in Japan as in Europe. That's why I'd always prefer to use the traditional lines, and in Japan they still invest in them, as we can see here

10:43 That high school student's English is very good. 11:17 One thing I have noticed in your videos is that there is a lot of travel between mountains. Whether by bus or train, there are always roads and tracks built between mountains. Thanks for taking us with you to Shirakawa go!

My good lord what a country. This isn't a mere train ride, but instead the birth child of a train ride and a tour. The announcer talks about the location. I found the announcement from the high language club quite fascinating. The path they take is so beautiful that they can afford to make a tour message about it lmao. Here in America, our trains would say "If you look to the left, you will witness a store looting and shooting occurring simultaneously." 😂

I saw this train in Nagoya station on the platform beside the one's I'm taking (Shinano limited express for Nagano). I was really attracted to it that I was tempted to just get inside for a bit and have a look whilst waiting for my decent but old train. Thanks for the video, I'd consider taking a trip to Takayama and Shirakawa-go

Very beautiful view giving us how the Japan countryside look.. very green indeed with the blue sky! How many hours was the ride? So the only new is the first class coach and the rest of the train is not new? I love the style of Japanese house as it exudes home sweet home vibe and coziness. And materials used are natural. Must be nice to sleep in one when it is raining. Looks like the food are bon appetitly delectable!

Went to shirakawa-go last year in early March. Felt like low season, still snowy in the forest and most areas, but raining during the day. It's definitely out of the way, in terms of the bus ride, so you might as well stay there for 1 night (I got on the bus from Kanawaza, so the opposite direction). Just a note that you might need to buy a separate bus ticket at the ticket office. Can't just hop on and pay with suica on these long haul busses. I had to wait an hour for the next bus, because I wasn't aware of this.
Хареса ми, както и всичко във Вашия канал. Гледам Ви от България, с голямо удоволствие. Този път не показахте, къщата или хотела, където сте спал.

A lot of your videos show trains/busses/hotels with a lot of vacancy, perhaps empty. Is that just because you avoid crowds out of respect for guests' privacy, or are these places normally empty?
