Trip to Santa Maria, Isabela

Santa Maria, Isabela is 4th class landlocked municipality of Isabela and is composed of 20 barangays. Fifteen of these barangays are located along Provincial road from Enrile to Sta. Maria boundary down to Cagayan River. The other five are far flung barangays situates in the interior portion of the municipality. The major dialect spoken by the people in the locality is Ibanag.
Santa Maria is an agricultural town where rice, sugarcane, and corn are the major products.
In Santa Maria, Isabela, pot products are called dweng, an Ibanag term derived from Madweng. referring to ibanag potter who makes and sells pottert products made from clay and sells pottery products from clay and other indigenous materials. Clay or mud is basically the main ingridient of the dweng pottery.
