I would like to ask someone who lives on Ishigaki how common it really is for people to be stung by Habu jellyfish whilst snorkelling or swimming. The signs are really quite terrifying and make it seem common! Is it rare to see Habu jellyfish in early October I wonder?

I’ve never seen habu jellyfish but Ishigaki city says to be careful of them from June to September. And some beaches have installed prevention net for Habu jellyfish. You can visit the following beaches if you want to avoid encountering them :) •Maesato beach •Painuhamacho Jinko Beach •Fusaki beach •Sukuji beach And also some article says vinegar is an effective remedy. Hope your safe and enjoyable trip :)
