The kids will never forget this adventure. It will stay with them well and truely into their old age. Great to see your family enjoying themselves so much. I only wish that I had these kind of experiences when I was growing up. Still, it is so nice to see through through the eyes of others.

Stopped in Coober Pedy on our first 2 month tour of Oz from the Uk in2012. It has improved for tourists a lot since then. Stayed 3 nights but had to leave as flies were driving us nuts! That was in March!2012. We visited Breakaways in our hired M/Home and covered it in dust outside and in!! We were on our way down to Adelaide. On our way to Alice, had to drive thru real flooding. Girl in Alice was pleased to see so much rain and river was flowing real deep. Keep it up, love the vids.

Your kids are having the best lives ever.. they will be better people and have learnt more in their lives due to what you both are teaching them while travelling. I watch 2 tv shows called Aussie Gold Hunters and Outback Opal Hunters on Foxtel and they showed last year the miners in Coober Pedy. The kid's excitement when in Di's Dug Out, checking it out, that's just awesome! I noticed the kids have slinkies, we had them as kids great fun. Coober Pedy is now on my bucket list. Can you not get a generic door handle set from Bunnings or some hardware in a town and fit it? Hey Jason, I just noticed that your solar panel on the roof of the Toyota is covered by more than half of the tinny, (in the aerial drone footage at 26:27) it would probably get more sun if you moved it to across the front of the roof rack instead of down the length of the rack. Stay safe waving from Melb.
@TripInAVan3 жыл бұрын
Yeah with the solar, it’s only up there for when we take the boat off and sit put in a campground while fishing 🤙

That hotel is so darn cool. The kids will NEVER forget staying there. Now that they got their own big beds, I am afraid time is ticking on your travel adventures. BUT, there is always solo once the kids fly the nest...Thanks for sharing. Well worth the price and YES, I do have the idea about sitting on the couch! Cheers
@petejones9613 жыл бұрын
I loved Coober Pedy, been there twice. If you noodle the stacks at night with an ultra violet light you can find them much easier, we found heaps, mostly worthless but still good tokens for the journey...The general store has the little uv lights for a couple bucks, but be warned there's a big guy who will try and lend you one for around $80 and he says he will give the money back when you return the light , then runs of with the money, he tried it on us but we conned on to him.

If you ever settle down and build your own house think about a mud construction. I live in a rammed earth house and in the summer when it is 40 odd degrees outside (in NSW) it is 25 inside without air conditioning. We have lived in it about 9 yers and have used the air con about 10 times only to cool off if the night has not cooled down and even then just put in on for an hour in the morning to cool the place off and then the mud walls take over with their natural properties. The temps are fairly even over the year we do have a wood fire we use in the winter ( we live 2 hours away from the snow so it does get very cold say - 8 at times) but it is very warm and cosy in then as well.
