I have the opposite problem. We can afford to do it but my husband actually enjoys his city job and I have 4 kids in highschool. I tell them let's take a month off school ( at least) and U should hear the whining........I got surburban raised kids who love their lifestyle. I even tell them once my husband retires we will move to the country ( I mean less than 2 hours drive from melbourne). My son said he would rather go to jail as long as it was in Melbourne ( or the suburbs) than end up living in the country. ....... I reminded him that he would be an adult then and didn't have to come. That's the intention.......running away from my kids once they R adults.

Good on you guys, I commented on your warroora bit and a week later realised that my near new volksy beetle was rooted after that three months with Frank Marks shearing team up around there. Chassis cracks, holes through the tops of the mudguards from hitting the unpaved runthroughs too fast. Got stuff all for a trade in a bit later. Is the shearing shed still down by the beach at Ningaloo?

Given that you enjoy your fire, apart from the tripod cooker do you have a normal hot plate? I do a lot of camping and my go to cooker is a Biji-Barbi, it works a treat and takes up very little room. Why don’t you use the stabiliser legs to level the camper? We use ours all the time to lever our camper.

Sense of Adventure they are just stabilisers, no good for levelling as they won’t jack the full weight of the van up. You end up breaking the gears inside the legs🤙
