The common trend seems to be having the 2D/3D avatars allow them to be way more personable and open then they usually are because a good chunk of the talent are introverted or at least slow to open up on a personal level with others. So while people like Nene are mega happy and personable as a VTuber Idol, in person she's far more reserved and awkward around other people.
