I've never made a dump cake cause I always thought they'd turn out that the dry batter would not get any moisture to cook it. I guess I'm just a traditional cake maker, I remember my grandma and mom would make delicious cakes from scratch. Thanks for sharing and God bless.

I've never made a dump cake without butter. I always add 1 1/2 sticks of butter on top. Also dump cakes don't rise much and they are made without eggs.

As you were scooping it out, it DID look kind of dry. At least you tried Gina. Maybe you could have used the very top layer to put on top of vanilla ice cream? I looked at the recipe before you started, and noticed no eggs right off the bat. I sure love your sense of humor! 😄 🍫

It did look good, but yes you are right it was very dry looking. Sorry it didn't turn out for you. If I ever make it I would try and add oil or eggs.

We don't have all those packet cake mixes in my country or at least I've never used them so was that the problem?

I think the problem was the recipe itself. I think it needed butter or oil.
