I didn’t quit Dornoch, and I’m so happy for him!! (And me 😁 😂) I’ve been rooting for him all year, everyone forgets his performance in the Remsen - he’s got heart and will battle back. In the Bluegrass, you can see Saez pull him back at least 3 times and he was visibly frustrated with it. The Derby, he got the one and got checked immediately and tried to recover. He earned his grade 1.

I didn't quit Dornoch either. ***People are IDIOTS.....just b/c a Horse like Dornoch ran a bad BG stakes and had a terrible trip in the Derby, doesn't mean a horse like that "can't" regain their form. I call it the Birdstone and Lemon Drop Kid factor....both of them ran poor Derby Prep races and didn't run well in the Derby, yet skipped the Preakness and won the Belmont at BIG odds. I too believed in Dornoch and I had the Trifecta. Too many times, BSF and Thorograph numbers are "only" what the experts look at. Shows they don't know this sport.

Honestly Dornoch stared em down, ran em down and put em away just like his Remsen. Give Dornoch his credit and time in the spotlight as he correctly deserves. His pedigree, his grit and raw talent were always obvious to me. He is AMAZING. He never should of been considered a long shot but ya'll made him the Sleeper Horse and boy did it pay off. He was my bet and I knew Dornoch could do it. Protective didn't bump SL at the start (as he did mid race), I believe SL was bumped from outside then bumped honor marie at the start. Mindframe is incredible and kicked for the wire, but he was not closing on Dornoch in the last few strides when Dornoch dug in again - Saez said "At that point, I thought the other horse (MF) was going to beat us. But Dornoch, he kept finding. He never let the other one get by." But Sierra Leone was closing fast - he might have done it with an extra 1/4 of a mile - or maybe not. We'll never know how good he is until Chad - or someone else - fixes his problem.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I really don’t believe that any of the TC winners are the best 3YO colts so far. In terms of sheer talent, Sierra Leone, Forever Young, and Fierceness showed more star power. Mystic Dan is certainly a good horse, but I’ve not seen real greatness from him. The Preakness was a weak field. Mindframe is interesting looking forward. It’s worth noting that Sierra Leone has never actually ran a bad race in his life. Yeah he’s clumsy, but he’s undoubtedly a monster.

This is the problem with changing the distance in the Belmont,Serra Leion looked like he might have won at a mile and a half and this conversation would be different.I agree with Mystic Dan being top male three year old right now

Sierra Leone is the top 3YO. Won the Risen Star, won the Blue Grass, second in the Derby, fast-closing third on a speed-favoring strip in the Belmont.
