Oh their were spoilers at this time as well. Just weren't as easy to access or find. They used to live off the underground. Now the spoiler guys train to be as dominating as they can be social media platforms. While the fans of today pretty suck ass as a whole, the Meltzer's and Keller's have crippled the business.

I legit hated HHH for about a good year. But years later in retrospect that just showed me how great a heel HHH actually was. One of the best heels in the history of pro-wrestling. HHH is now doing great things building and creating now in the WWE. Conan should invite Hunter back some time especially with SummerSlam weekend coming up.

LOL same. I was a teen during the Attitude Era and back then I always hated Triple H as a performer (not just as a kayfabe character). I thought he was overrated, overexposed, and only got to his main event position through backstage politicking and dating Stephanie. Then years later when they launched the WWE Network I went back and rewatched a bunch of his matches, and I thought to myself: "HHH was always an amazing wrestler, you idiot. You were just a mark getting worked by a guy so good at heel psychology that he tricked you into thinking you hated him for real." The Cerebral Assassin indeed. Bravo, Hunter.

But from 1997 on, it was relatively consistent (on-screen anyway) that people called him Triple H. Backstage however, HBK always called him Triple H ever since he joined the WWF and the Kliq.

I've been rewatching the Attitude Era on the WWE Network lately, and I just watched this interview, it's a huge coincidence that they reuploaded this just recently. Love him or hate him, the "Game" has gone from being the baggage carrier of the Klique to possibly the most powerful man in the pro wrestling industry and besides Ric Flair, perhaps the absolute best heel ever. Can't help but respect that.

Usually you only see wrestlers next to other wrestlers, so it's always great to see them in interviews. When they are next to humans, it really becomes obvious how they are not.

I got the meet HHH az few times when my now thankfully ex-wife and her brother were heavily into WWF, and he really is a genuinely good guy when he isn't "on". Great sense of humor, surprisingly down to earth about things despite his career and fame.

@@criticalsourpatch5634 no one important...they just bought meet & greet tickets to a show and took me with them. They were all "WWF is life", but I saw it for the simple, mindless entertainment that it was. It may all be fake and scripted, but I always gave those guys and gals immense credit for what they did because they were on non-stop many times even when seriously injured. Not like football players who only play once a week and complain about a pinky toe hurting. lol
