I see this build nearly every game I'm in at the moment. I can see why as the vapor eagle (I keep calling it a veagle for some reason) is really in that sweet spot for tonnage/hard point/manoeuvrability for a medium mech.

I really like that cammo on the special variant. I use the special one some times with just 2 atm 12 and a tag max jj and 7 tons of ammo and xl 330

I'd suggest the Viper. Has the best jj height in the game iirc. And it's ridiculous with the skill tree maxed out. Just watch your legs

Jumpjet heat might be useful, but height and duration and things are usually less useful. High jumps take you on a predictable path and good players are able to hit you out of the air. Many good players will try to make smaller jumps, stagger steps (using jj to change directions a bit) and poptard only to the point that you can just clear the obstacles.

Really can't go wrong with the Vapor Eagle, as it's got the magic combo of being the best mediumweight, Clantech, and non-Omni so you can tweak engine/ferro/endo to build.

If only there were battles that didn't lock one out for their mech being a specific group. Used to LOVE my Viper with 2ppc, fast move speed, and high as hell jump jets. Problem was most games would auto lock me out because Vipers aren't part of group whatever so they aren't permitted in specific battles. >

Try replacing one of the PPCs with an LB-10 on this build. You lose some pinpoint damage, but your heat efficiency will drastically increase as you can pretty much fire the LB-10 indefinitely on this mech and you'll see a DPS increase as well. Basically you can fire 2-4 volleys with all weapons and then shoot just your LB-10 as you cool down enough to fire the PPCs again.

"Why am I still alive?" Because you're in a Vapor eagle Bara :D This mech is ridiculous. This build and the atm builds are pretty devastating especially if you come up against a pre-made running four of them :D Not a good idea to cook yourself in these though. They don't have the internals you're used to Bara. In real-time your shot around 13:41 looks like it missed (the one that didn't reg) but if you slow down the video to 0.25 your targeting reticle is clearly on target and the shot should have registered. Great games. First one was so messy but also pretty much how most games go these days. Thank you for the videos :D

Hey Baradul, I had a thought on how to stop Nascarring. In table top battletech the faster you move the harder it is to aim your shots. So what do you think about adding a weapon shake to you aim while you move? Like the one you get when you use your jump jets, but maybe not as dramatic, while you are walking. So if you want a pin point shot you have to stop moving. I think with a feature like that players would be less likely to be constantly on the move.

Is it just me struggling with YT today? I've seen so many commercials on this one because I have to constantly reload it due to video getting grainy and/or stopping to recache. Weird part is that it works fine for a while after reloading, and then just collapses on itself after a minute or three. And yes, I'm watching in 1440p

How does overheat damage work when you don't override shutdown? Is it arguably better in situations when you have any minimal aggro (thinking of that dark orange burn in the 2nd match 11:10 ish, worst case the roughneck doesn't panic into cover and gets to unload an MRM40 and a RAC5), or is the saved structure negligible?

It depends. You can always max out bad luck and pop the PPC instead of taking the damage, or loosing heat sinks. But in case of not losing all your armor since you scared an enemy back you might be alive for taking that heat. In a larger mech the non-override dmg. is mostly negligible but on a light you can always accidentally press an alpha when going +90 which takes you to 140% and makes the internals fry them (winner winner) chicken dinners ahead of time... The thing is if your overridden you can always make it back to cover while taking the internal dmg. I can't keep good track soo I keep the non-override and ride the heat gauge until I get used to the mech and get a good rythm whilst never ever overheating/shutdown except in brawls or trying to secure a kill.

I've been wanting to get back into playing MW:O recently, but having not played since the end of closed beta, so much is different and I have no idea where to begin. I at least have some premium mechs from being a founder but stock they all seem pretty useless what with all the things added since they where relevant. Any advice on getting (re)started?

If you have that Founder Atlas and Catapult you are good to go. Catapult is kind of mobile and works with Big MRM Launchers.... And Atlas is also nice with LBX20 and MRM 🤗

Sadly EXE is considered to be one of the worst assaults and weak whatever you try... If I have to, I'd try Triple LPL on EXE-A(8 set), small/micro laser boat, or ATM9x3 + tag + something, but It will be hard to ignore better alternatives on other mechs.

For my executioner I run 2 ppc in the torso and an lbx20 on the arm, great armour peeler but I find it’s an assault mech trying to be a heavy. I do love using masc in an assault however
