Hey I need some help from anyone. Whenever I try to make a colourful/rainbow cake it never seems to be a very bright colour. I use food colouring to colour the mixture at the beginning and then I put them in the oven for the same time a normal cake would be but the colours don't come out as vibrant as I want it to be . It's very cute... but why spend time trimming the top and bottom of the cake carefully, when you are just going to take a single half inch layer out. You could do that with two cuts with your cake leveler. Of course then you can make unicorn poo cake balls with the extra pieces, I imagine :-)
